Startalk host Joey de Leon spoke with Jennylyn Mercado over the phone regarding her pregnancy and her reaction to the Garcia family's offer to give her a helping hand. He asked the question that every Jennylyn fan would want to know: When exactly is Jennylyn giving birth?
"Last week of August," Jennylyn answered gladly.
Joey then shifted to a more serious matter which involves of course, Patrick Garcia. He asked, "Ito, paulit-ulit na ito, pero umalis na naman si Patrick? Kaaalis lang ba talaga ito papuntang Amerika?"
"Hindi ko alam, e," Jennylyn said, sounding a bit flustered. "Hindi ko po alam, Kuya Joey. Wala po talaga akong alam."
Does it mean she and Patrick have zero communication?
"Wala na po talaga."
Joey cracked a joke, "So, parang ang credit card siya? Parang ayaw naman niya, ‘I don't own,' o ‘I own'?"
Jennylyn just laughed as Joey's intent hit home. Changing the subject, Joey asked, "Sa palagay mo, okey ka na magde-deliver, walang problema, nagpapa-checkup ka lagi?"
"Okey naman po, sana normal delivery," Jennylyn answered.
Joey followed up with a question regarding the sex of the child. Jennylyn proudly answered, "Boy po, Kuya Joey!"
PATRICK'S FAMILY'S STATEMENT. PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) recently posted a news item on the statement of Patrick's family , who offered to help Jennylyn, "Just knock on the door and we will open for you."
What is her say on this?
"Hindi ko naman kailangan, e," Jennylyn laughed as Joey's expression changed from curiosity to complete surprise. "Bakit ko naman kailangang kumatok sa mga pintuan na hindi naman open para sa akin."
"Paano kung naka-‘open' na at hindi mo na kailangang mag-knock?" Joey suddenly asked. "Ayaw mo pa rin?"
"Hindi na," Jennylyn said. "I think it's too late na for that. Ayoko na."
Well, that's that. Before they wrapped up the interview, Joey asked where Jennylyn plans to give birth. Here in the Philippines or abroad?
"Dito na po sa Pilipinas," Jennylyn said. "Hindi na din ako pinayagan ng OB ko na umalis, e. Masyado nang malaki ang tiyan ko."
