Pagkatapos ng Babangon Ako't Dudurugin Kita, ang unang teleserye ni Angelika dela Cruz pagkatapos niyang bumalik ulit sa GMA-7 mula sa ABS-CBN, may panibago nang serye ang aktres sa Kapuso network. Sa pagkakataong ito, sa afternoon soap naman na Una Kang Naging Akin siya mapapanood.
Ang Una Kang Naging Akin ay TV remake ng pelikula ng Viva Films noong 1991 na may ganun ding pamagat. Pinagbidahan ito nina Sharon Cuneta, Gabby Concepcion, at Dawn Zulueta. Ang role ni Dawn ang gagampanan ni Angelika sa TV version.
Nang makausap ng PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) si Angelika, wala pa raw siyang alam na anumang detalye sa naturang Sine Novela other than her role at ang magdidirek nito na si Direk Joel Lamangan.
"Siyempre, happy ako dahil may bago akong soap opera na gagawin," sambit ni Angelika. "‘Tsaka napanood ko na kasi before pa yung Una Kang Naging Akin at masasabi kong maganda siyang talaga. At kahit yung character ni Dawn, hindi siya kontrabida lang talaga. Bida-kontrabida pero hindi yung sasabihin mong masama talaga."
Wala raw problema kay Angelika kahit bida-kontrabida pa rin ang bago niyang project. After daw kasi ng magagandang response sa acting niya sa Babangon Ako't Dudurugin Kita, mas lalo lang daw siyang na-inspire.
Taliwas sa sinasabi ng ilan na kesyo nagde-demand siya ng bida role, wala raw katotohanan yun, ani Angelika.
"Siyempre, lahat naman siguro, gusto ng bida role, yung ikaw naman ang api-apihan. Pero ako kasi, never akong nagde-demand. Masaya na ako kung ano lang ang ibigay sa akin. At masaya ako dahil nakikita ko naman na okey at magaganda yung mga projects na ibinibigay sa akin ng GMA," pahayag ng aktres.
Kung tatanungin daw siya ngayon, masasabi niyang she's very contented sa kung anuman ang meron siya pagdating sa personal at professional life niya. Masaya rin daw siya being a Kapuso now.
"Oo naman! As in, oong-oo. Haping-happy siyempre!" bulalas ni Angelika.
