Director Cathy Garcia-Molina dreads to face kids orphaned by their father's death

"When I called last night, yung panganay ko na three years old was looking for him. These are the moments na I dread, to face my kids. They are sleeping right now and I'm waiting for them to wake up and I pray to God that kayanin ko, kakayanin ko, kayang-kaya," relates director Cathy Garcia-Molina about telling her kids about their father's death.

Emosyonal ang direktor na si Cathy Garcia-Molina nang makapanayam siya kaninang umaga, March 30, nina Edu Manzano at Rica Peralejo sa Umagang Kay Ganda, ang daily morning show ng ABS-CBN.

Ang interview sa resident film director ng Star Cinema ang unang pagkakataon na nagsalita siya tungkol sa pagpanaw kahapon, March 29, ng kanyang asawa na si Philip "Epoy" Molina.

Sa panayam kay Cathy, kinumpirma nito ang balita na nagkaroon ng cardiac arrest si Epoy nang dalhin sa ospital dahil sa aksidente na nangyari sa Baguio City kahapon.

"Bale what happened, after... Kasi ano 'yon, e, race ng mountain bike, downhill. He left Friday [March 27] and then at 10:30 a.m. [yesterday, Sunday], yung isang medyo mataas na jump, masama raw yung bagsak niya.

"So at 11:30 a.m., I got a call from a friend saying na dinala na siya sa hospital at nire-revive. Medyo natakot ako kasi yung term was 'nawalan siya ng pulse rate' and then nire-revive nga.

"Then, I got a call again saying nag-react na yung katawan ni Epoy so, inex-ray na siya. And then the next thing I know, Tita Malou [Santos, managing director of Star Cinema] called me and 'yon, sinabi na I lost my husband already. That was about 2:30 in the afternoon," malungkot na lahad ni Direk Cathy.

Ayon pa sa salaysay ng direktor ng blockbuster hits na A Very Special Love at You Changed My Life ay hindi raw niya kayang harapin ang kanyang mga anak pagkatapos niyang malaman ang nangyari sa kanilang ama.

"I was with my kids nung nalaman ko yung news and because I thought magtatagal ako doon [sa Baguio City ], dahil I thought magiging okey ang asawa ko, iniwan ko yung mga anak ko dito sa Manila with my sister. Nakaalis na ako when I found out, and I don't think I'll be ready to face my kids."

Ano ang pinakamami-miss ni Direk Cathy sa kanyang yumaong asawa?

"His playtime with my kids," sagot niya. "When I called last night, yung panganay ko na three years old was looking for him. These are the moments na I dread, to face my kids. They are sleeping right now and I'm waiting for them to wake up and I pray to God that kayanin ko, kakayanin ko, kayang-kaya. He [Epoy] has friends. I have everyone who prays for my husband and for me. Thank you everyone...thank you."

God has a reason why this had happened... it is really the right time for him to go... its just sad that he left in different way...

but always remember: we only borrowed our life to our Creator, and if HE thinks that we already fulfilled our mission in life, He have to get it back...

view this as one of the blessings coming to all of us... you have to rejoice for he is now going and will live to the happiest place where most of us wanted to go: in HEAVEN

this is only one of the TRIALS we have to face on earth, the the more trials we have, the more CLOSER we are to GOD.

TRIALS and CHALLENGES in life makes us more courageous to face another trial if we can OVERCOME one.

EVERYTHING happenning in our LIFE has a PURPOSE... GOD has a BETTER PLAN to those who will PERSEVERE.

People shd hv a back-up plan if the worst happens. Sa mga kasama naman na iba, they shd also know not to touch the victim if he falls, and let paramedics do it. Kasi minsan, nakakasama pa lalo kapag ginalaw mo yung biktima bec there might be internal injuries that cd hasten death kapag di medical personnel ang nag-lift sa biktima. May 911 na ba sa pinas?
gt;gt;gt;gt; To answer ur question: we dont need to have 911 in the Phils bec. we already have our numbers to call for emergency but it will never be 911 bec we are not the US and Canada.
gt;gt;gt;gt; hindi dapat galawin ang biktima unless its the paramedics na - geez everybody knows this, i knew this from grade school kaso lang, the Philippines is a 3rd world country so we know what this means no need for elaboration, we are all smart here right.

People who's into daredevil sports shd take it as a responsibility to check first if thee place is equipped to handle emergency situations. Tulad dito nga sa Canada, they just found out na Montreal is the only skiing destination that doesnt offer airlift ambulance service. Ngayon lang nila ginagawan ng paraan after Natasha Richardson died. People shd hv a back-up plan if the worst happens. I was also sad when my husband who happened to be with Epoy in the downhill competition yesterday texted me that Epoy died already. According to my husband, Epoy had severe bleeding amp; in fact he was with Epoy after na nadisgrasya siya. Epoy was in severe pain amp; talagang humihiyaw siya sa sakit na dala ng injury niya. The competition was postponed due to that incident.Downhill is really an xtreme sport, one must overcome the trail with all the rocky roads amp; burms to beat the time.Accident happens anytime amp; we will just pray for Epoy amp; his family.

My condolences to Madam Cathy Molina amp; the children......
