Sumalang din kahapon, March 29, sa "The Buzz Tough Ten" si Derek Ramsay upang sagutin ang mga matitinding tanong lalo na ang tungkol sa estado ng kanilang relasyon ng girlfriend niyang si Angelica Panganiban.
Bago ang tanungan ay nag-promote muna si Derek ng malapit nang ipalabas na pelikulang T2 under Star Cinema at directed by Chito Roño. Pinagbibidahan ito ni Maricel Soriano, kasama rin sina Mica dela Cruz, Eric Fructuoso, Camille Prats, Tetchie Agbayani, at Mon Confiado. Showing ang T2 sa April 11.
Pagkatapos nito ay hinarap ni Derek ang mabibigat na tanong ng The Buzz co-host na si Kris Aquino sa "The Buzz Tough Ten."
Tough Ten Question No. 10: Before you work with Maricel Soriano in T2, natakot ka ba na makaharap siya at makatrabaho siya?
"It's more like excited and nervous. Hindi ako natatakot. She's a great actress. So, I was really excited to work with her. It took me some time sa car before I get into the set. Parang I get myself together because I was to work with her. But the minute I met her, ang bilis nawala yun feeling na yun, because she was really nice. Sobrang bait," puri ni Derek kay Maricel Soriano.
Tough Ten Question No. 9: Kung career path ang pag-uusapan, sino sa tatlo ang gusto mong sundan—John Lloyd Cruz, Piolo Pascual, or Sam Milby?
"I would say John Lloyd. I've worked with Sam. I've worked with John Lloyd. I haven't work with Piolo. Nakasama ko si Sam sa Maging Sino Ka Man. Pati si John Lloyd, at saka One More Chance. I learned a lot from John Lloyd. All of them are great actors. But I learned a lot from John Lloyd watching him act on the set."
Ano yung pinakamahalaga that Lloydie taught you?
"How he...he just sits in one corner. Nakaupo lang siya dun. Talagang nakikita mo talaga na nagpo-focus siya. So, I would try to be like that."
Tough Ten Question No. 8: Nagwo-worry ka ba na parang Angelica is not as healthy, ang dami niyang health issues dahil ang dami niyang nagiging sakit?
"Oo, kasi naman dapat magpaopera na siya, e. Isina-suggest ng doctor na tanggalin yung tonsils niya. Pero she's really being hard-headed about it. She has a heart problem. I don't know exactly what it is, but something's clogged there in her heart. So, kailangan tanggalin yung tonsils niya."
Is there something that can be done sa heart niya?
"Yeah, may iniinom siyang gamot na parang tinutunaw yung blockage sa puso niya. Pero ang isina-suggest na tanggalin na nga yung tonsils niya. Kasi she always get infected sa tonsils niya, namamaga."
And also, di ba, in her tummy?
"She had a really bad case of dysmenorrhea."
To the point na inakala na it was appendicitis na?
"Yes. Ako na nga yung naoospital, e!"
Why?
"Kasi ang sungit niya kapag may dysmenorrhea siya!" natatawang sabi ni Derek.
Tough Ten Question No. 7: Is there anything na ipinakiusap sa iyo ni Angelica na, 'Please, don't do this,' kaya lang ginagawa o nagawa mo pa rin?
"Yung paglalaro ko ng extreme sports."
Like what?
"Rugby. Just like last weekend, I broke my finger. It was crooked. Kinagat ko na lang para bumalik siya. I played rugby with all these foreigners who came last week."
So, ayaw niya yung rugby?
"Ayaw niya yung rugby. Ayaw niya yung frisbee. Hindi sa ayaw niya akong mag-sports, pero kasi baldado na itong right knee ko. So now, she's really worried na magpahinga muna ako."
Tough Ten Question No. 6: You had a family Christmas reunion, and then Angelica was invited, pero hindi raw siya nagpunta?
"No, actually she was there. We all went to Cagayan de Oro. We went wild water rafting."
So, she's there, mali yung research namin. Tutal mali yung question nila, I'll ask a different question. Super na-get along niya yung family mo in that reunion?
"Yes. One week kami doon sa Cagayan de Oro. And it was the first time she spent Christmas with my family."
Tough Ten Question No. 5: As you said, ang hilig mo sa extreme sports. Do you have a death wish?
"Lahat ng mga kaibigan ko sinasabi may death wish ako. I like to get over my fears. Takot ako sa heights, so tumalon ako sa eroplano. Nag-sky diving ako sa Canada. Takot ako sa mga sharks and next year sa South America, I'm gonna swim with the Great White Sharks with no cage. With my friends, we're going to watch the World Cup, tapos magsu-swimming kami kasama ng mga pating."
Parang hindi yata masaya yun?
"Masaya kaya yun!"
E, baka wala ka nang hita pagbalik mo?
"Hindi ko naman siguro kikilitiin yung pating!"
Tough Ten Question No. 4: May lalaki ba, whether showbiz or non-showbiz, na pinagselosan mo or you get insecure regarding Angelica?
"No, I'm totally against jealousy. Hindi sa nagyayabang ako... I'm secure with myself and with my relationship with Angel, so it's all based on trust. At kung may lalaki man na ganun, I'd like to see that kasi I would see if she wants me or she wants that guy. But jealousy is just bad for me."
Tough Ten Question No. 3: Sino yung sinusundo mong girl sa isang university?
"I don't know what university it is yung sinasabi nila."
May sinundo ka na ba?
"Yeah."
So, what are the schools?
"La Salle and Ateneo. My friends sa frisbee, nag-aaral pa rin sila. So, there are times na nakapunta na ako sa Ateneo, sa La Salle to pick them up. Puro practice, then just leave, or hang out. So, I can't deny that I haven't been to a university."
She's (Angelica) cool with it?
"Yeah. Actually, my best friend, Mel, she's here now. And I always bring her to my work."
Ayon pa kay Kris, nakita na rin niya ang naturang girl na kasama ni Derek sa panonood ng High School Musical.
"I always bring her. And I can never leave my friends aside. I came to showbiz with these guys. So, ang respect ko sa kanila, hindi ko sila iiwan. I'm proud to be their friend. So, when people say that I'm with another girl, I don't mind."
You don't mind, but does Angel mind?
"No, hindi."
Tough Ten Question No. 2: Madalas napapabalita na nag-aaway kayo, naghiwalay kayo. There's a case last year na it came to a head talaga. Kailan yung isang time na kamuntik na kayong mag-break at goodbye na talaga?
"We go to problems, nagkakaproblema. Normal 'yan sa isang relationship. Siguro tampuhan lang talaga kami. Hindi kami mag-uusap for one or two days. And then, we'll see each other tapos okay na. Everything's fixed. Pero coming close to a complete breakup, siguro one time pa lang. But I don't remember when."
Since it came close, what did it teach you?
"Actually, na-realize ko dun na we were both being ridiculous. Siguro nagpapapansinan lang kami kaya nangyari yun."
Tough Ten Question No. 1: Is there anything na kailangan mong ihingi ng tawad kay Angel?
"Yung pagka-hardheaded ko. I'd like to say sorry that I don't listen to you, as much as I like to."
Three years nang mag-on sina Derek at Angelica. Tinanong ni Kris, kung ito ba ang kanyang longest relationship.
"Almost, I had four years kasi."
In the three years, can you say na you've been faithful?
"Yeah."
So, hindi mo kailangan ihingi ng tawad yun?
"Yes. Yung ano na lang, yung pagiging hardheaded ko sa paglalaro ng extreme sports. I know that I shouldn't be playing. Alam ko yun. Pero ganun talaga ako, e."
