"There are a lot of things that I want to do, how I affect people, whether they love or hate me. But it was a lot of fun and nothing beats working with production people," Kjwan frontman Marc Abaya recalled his acting in the defunct Ligaw na Bulaklak.

Trying his hand at acting was a "very humbling experience" according to Kjwan vocalist, Marc Abaya.
Speaking to PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) last April 6 at the launching of Ferrari's latest model cars with real engine sounds at the SM Mall of Asia's Main Mall Atrium, Marc fondly looked back at his stint in the now defunct ABS-CBN afternoon drama series, Ligaw na Bulaklak.
Marc is known as a bonafide rock n' roll figure. Acting is not at all easy, given the misgivings of the general music fans who want their idols free from the clutches of mainstream show business. General television viewers, on the flipside, were likewise skeptical of Marc's foray into acting.
"There are a lot of things that I want to do, how I affect people, whether they love or hate me. But it was a lot of fun and nothing beats working with production people. The production people of ABS-CBN were the sweetest people I've ever met. I mean, meeting people like Ara Mina, Roxanne Guinoo, Sid Lucero, it's an honor. It was a very, very humbling, exciting experience."
FACING FEAR. Marc confessed feeling terrified at first when he made the decision to plunge into unknown territory. An intense and passionate performer on stage, acting while simultaneously delivering lines in front of the camera wasn't exactly Marc's cup of tea at first. This despite being born to well-respected director parents: Manolo Abaya and Marilou Diaz-Abaya.
As in reverse psychology, Marc's decision to act was in response to his fear.
"It was that, basically that, because I was afraid of it. I mean show business has always been my parents thing and they're very supportive and I figured why not do everything? Why not at least try my best to be good in everything?" he enthused.
Marc is currently busy promoting Kjwan's latest album, 13 Seconds To Love, by doing the usual gigs here and there. As for his next acting project, Marc is keeping his fingers crossed, hoping he gets included in Judy Ann Santos and Ryan Agoncillo's upcoming sitcom, George & Cecil.
For the Holy Week, Marc will be staying in Anilao, Batangas. "We're fortunate enough to have a house in Anilao so I'd probably spend a week there with friends and special friends."
