Trinidad "Trina" Etong, the wife of news anchor Ted Failon, died at 8:50 p.m. tonight, April 16. Etong sustained a wound in her head after a shooting incident, that is still being investigated by the police, Wednesday morning, April 15.
Trina, 45, was reportedly brought to the New Era Hospital at around 11 a.m. yesterday by Failon himself.
It is still unclear whether the gunshot wound of Trina was self-inflicted or due to foul play.
According to latest reports, Failon broke into tears after learning about his wife's death.
Failon and his daughter Kaye were at the Intensive Care Unit of the New Era Hospital when the doctors were trying to revive Trina. According to dzMM's vice president for Manila division, Peter Musngi, Failon could not stop crying.

something fishy? maybe but not necessarily. for all we know the maids could have been just doing their job--to keep the house clean/oorderly. not all people are aware of legal/investigative procedures anyway.
no one is really questioning much on why the maids were arrested bec they are considered as suspects anyway. but what most people find despicable was the MANNER the police made their arrest.
if you aim a gun at point blank meaning its in direct contact with the body's skin, its projectile path would be straight for the momentum of the bullet is so strong that it penetrates thru and thru to the body. the marking results on the body would be less lacerations on the entry wound with more gun powder wounds on the victims body. it would be impossible for ted to kill his wife this way for he said they were quarelling. quarrels are always in a scuffle, its hard to aim at point blank and it would take several bullets to fire in order give a fatal gun shot.
