Pero ayon kay Toni, kahit noon pa man kapag tinatanong siya kung sino pa ang gusto niyang makatrabaho, nabanggit daw niya talaga ang pangalan ni Derek.
"Dapat yung unang Maalaala Mo Kaya pa nga na ginawa ko, kaya lang, hindi natuloy. Hindi nagkaayos sa schedule. So, at least now, may chance na magkatrabaho na kami."
Off-screen, masasabi ba ni Toni magkaibigan sila ni Derek?
"Well, madalas kaming magkita sa ABS-CBN, pero hi and hello lang talaga kami. Matagal na yung one minute na magkausap at magbatian. Kasi nga, may mga kanya-kanyang trabaho, kanya-kanyang proyekto.
"Hi and hello lang, pero tama ang sinabi niya na yung unang hosting daw niya, sa ETK [defunct showbiz talk show], dun kami unang nagkasama. Pero hosting yun, magkaiba yun."
UPCOMING PROJECTS. May mga naka-lineup na raw na mga bagong projects si Toni sa ABS-CBN bukod sa PHR. Yun nga lang, ni isa ay wala pa siyang masabing detalye dahil sinabihan daw siyang hindi pa puwede.
But another project that makes her excited ay ang paghu-host niyang muli ng Pinoy Big Brother (PBB) at maging ng Pinoy Dream Academy (PDA).
"Siyempre naman, exciting ang Pinoy Big Brother, lalo na itong Season 3 at ang Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition na ilu-launch naman early next year, at yung PDA."
Diretso namang tinanong ng PEP si Toni kung malulungkot o madi-disappoint ba siya kung iba na at hindi na siya ang gagawing host ng PBB o PDA.
"Ay, hindi talaga ako magpapaka-plastic kung sasabihin kong okey lang. Masasaktan talaga ako.Dadamdamin ko yun. Ako, si Mariel Rodriguez, si Bianca Gonzalez, dugo at pawis ang inilaan namin dun. Talagang yung dedikasyon namin sa show na yun, buong pagkatao namin talaga.
"Napasok kaming tatlo ng Bahay [ni Kuya], lahat talaga ginawa namin for the show. And naging parte ng buhay ko ang Pinoy Big Brother. So yun, magdadamdam siguro talaga ako. Pero, ganoon naman talaga yun.
"If ever lang na mangyari—sana naman huwag mangyari—life still goes on. At siguro, may ibang darating. Pero, huwag naman sanang mangyari," pagwawakas ni Toni.
