PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) just got word that the indie film Bayaw, starring Paolo Rivero and Janvier Daily, was Rated X when the Movie and Television Review & Classification Board (MTRCB) reviewed it earlier today, August 27.
Bayaw will be submitted again to the MTRCB for a second review on Tuesday, September 1. The people behind this production are all hoping that it will be approved for exhibition, with minimal cuts or no cuts at all, in time for its showing. The film, produced by Climax Films and directed by Monti Parungao (Sagwan), is scheduled to open on September 2 in selected theaters nationwide.
Bayaw was first screened as part of the 5th Cinemalaya Philippine Independent Film Festival. It was one of the films shortlisted by a screening committee to take part in the first Cinemalaya-NETPAC World Cinema, a sidebar competition formed by CCP to cater to independent producers who will premiere their films during the festival. This is a separate category from the ten full-length entries that were granted funding by the Cinemalaya organization.
In the film, Paolo and Janvier play brothers-in-law who get entangled in a homosexual affair after one of them commits a crime.

depende na yan sa tao kung paano nya intirpritahin.
and kung may story, then why not. for me, i watch the show dahil gusto ko yung storya.
at halos lahat kasi ng Indies ay halo tagala sa totoong pangyayari. kaya minsan di natin kayang harapin ang totoong mga nangyayari.
give them a chance MTRCB
Ibig sabihin dahil 2009 na, dapat magwala na tayo at tanggalin lahat ng motalidad decency sa katawan?
Buti nga sa Bayaw. Sana lahat ng indie films na bold lang naman puro X lang matanggap.
