"And then, he kept on saying nung makausap ko siya, 'You know when I started working na and as I got older...' Di ba, he'd gone into directing? That's why he cannot understand daw na when my Dad died, nobody was able to film the assassination. Sabi ko, walang nakakakuha ng ano, walang kamera. Sabi ko, 'Dingdong, kahit na-lift na ang Martial Law, that was a one-man rule, a dictatorship, so no camera existed.' Sabi ko, 'Yun ang explanation doon.'
"And siguro, sabi ko, 'Even me, parang very dim ang memory ko of that time na walang press freedom, yung TV grabbing, censorship... Parang for us, now we're benefitting from this. Eto dapat ang advocacy natin, na aalagaan natin.'
"Yun ang conversation namin kanina, parang hindi raw niya maintindihan why. Because it's so easy for us, this teen age where every phone, [may] video, di ba? It's a totally different, ibang era talaga. It's ano lang, 26 years ago lang, but look na, di ba? Yun daw ang ano niya. He got into editing and filming and all, dun daw ang naisip niya talaga," tuluy-tuloy na kuwento ni Kris.
Si Dingdong ang magiging spokesperson para sa Advocates of Youth and Students for Noynoy, o Ayos Na!.
INTERVIEW WITH STARTALK. Pumayag din sina Kris at Senator Noynoy na magpa-interview kay Ricky Lo para sa anniversary ng Startalk, ang showbiz talk ng GMA-7 kung saan si Kris ang isa sa naging original hosts.
"Okey, ganito yun... Di ba, you know how I am? I'm so daldal and so open? I'm complete opposite, he's [Noynoy] very quiet and all. Sabi niya, 'Ayoko ng showbiz questions.' Kasi, he really felt hindi siya talaga... Nung tinanong siya ni Tito Ricky, 'So, how do you feel that your ex-girlfriend [Korina Sanchez] will be your inaanak sa kasal?' Alam mo yung na-feel mo na nag-jest siya na parang ganun?
"Tapos, pero siyempre yung polite na answer, 'They found happiness with each other.' He said, 'So, you mean, you're happy for her?' 'No, I'm happy for both of them because I can see true partnership and love.' As in, talagang ini-evade niya talaga na huwag na ninyong i-acknowledge na naging girlfriend niya, yung ganun. Alam mo na, hindi niya type 'yan.
"Unlike kasi nung nag-dinner kami sa house, nung nagtanong si Ai-Ai [delas Alas] sa kanya, 'Senator, ano ang view mo doon sa ano? Papayag ka na ba sa same-sex marriage?' Talagang si Noy din, parang naano na naman. 'Naku, hindi 'yan ganun.' Tapos may nagtatanong about lovelife-lovelife niya. Yung talagang... siguro two sentences lang ang sinabi niya," kuwento ni Kris.
