When typhoon Ondoy hit the country last October, many Filipinos were caught unprepared by its flash floods. Thousands of homeless and hungry families in different provinces of Luzon were direly affected.
Pinoys abroad have probably seen numerous photos and videos that show how much damage this typhoon did to the country. YES! magazine in its November 2009 issue focuses on the experiences of celebrities who nearly lost everything they worked for in show business.
The storm didn't only wreak havoc, it also brought out the Pinoys' uniques, traditional "bayanihan" spirit.
Some local celebrities braved the heavy rains and strong flood currents to help their neighbors in need. Despite their busy schedules, other stars took some days off from work to participate in different relief operations in several areas that were greatly affected by typhoon Ondoy.
Photos of these "celebrities in action" can be seen on YES! magazine's latest issue. For those living abroad, you may browse its digital edition online by subscribing to this LINK.
Aside from the Ondoy feature, you may flip through the pages to see what's inside the house of the young singer Charice Pempengco, while reading how the former Little Big Star runner-up gained reknown in different countries.
