"Sinabi ni Boy [Abunda, talent manager], 'Napaka-friendly ng rate na 'to ngayon dala ng pangangailangan ng pangangampanya,'" Kris Aquino quipped when asked about her talent fee for being the Ambassador for Entrepreneurship of direct-selling brand BoardWalk.

As part of fulfilling her promises to her late mother, former President Cory Aquino, Kris Aquino agreed to be the Ambassador for Entrepreneurship of the direct-selling brand BoardWalk.
During her contract-signing at the Sofitel Philippine Plaza yesterday, November 22, the local Queen of Talk related how she was convinced to be part of BoardWalk. She said it started when she needed a lot of flip-flops that she could give to the victims of Ondoy.
"'Yong pagsisimula ng relationship came because we wanted to be of help with others. So, in a way, parang bumalik 'yong blessing. Totoo ang sinasabi nila na when you want to do good, times one hundred ang ibabalik ni God sa'yo," said Kris.
The talk show host said that her co-host and talent manager Boy Abunda also wanted this partnership for her to encourage its members, who are mostly mothers, to sell more products profitably.
She said, "I think Boy [Abunda, Kris's talent manager] was very, very specific, when he was negotiating with [BoardWalk], in saying what I really wanted to advocate is the entrepreneurship side. Sabi niya kasi, Boy was telling me, 'Hindi ba, isa 'yan sa mga promise mo sa mom mo?'
"I think, from experience talaga, kapag nagsusumikap 'yong mommy, most especially because ang dami nating mga OFWs... Maraming naghihintay na matawag sila at magkaroon sila ng puwesto abroad, so tengga ang mga daddy. So, kapag ang mga mommy nagsusumikap, hindi magugutom ang mga anak.
"So, when they had mentioned that it's part of their advocacy tool sa mas magandang kinabukasan with BoardWalk, I readily said yes because parang in-line ang mga vision namin."
As the Ambassador for Entrepreneurship, Kris will be visiting some of the key outlets of Board Walk in the country.
"I think, masuwerte din sila na gusto kong umikot sa buong Pilipinas. Na-timing lang talaga," said Kris.
CAMPAIGNING FOR NOYNOY. In her last statement, Kris mentioned her plan to go around places to campaign for her brother, presidential candidate Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III.
Kris told PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) that she might not be able to push through with visiting places outside Manila during the campaign period. Aside from hosting the daily entertainment news program SNN and the weekly talk show The Buzz, she will also be busy taping her upcoming TV series, Kung Tayo'y Magkakalayo.
"I'm working Monday, Wednesday, Friday sa soap. I won't be going around the provinces. They realized that there's an inability on my part to do that kasi nga doon sa schedule," said Kris.
She said that she's already doing her part with the media campaign, in spite of her tight schedule.
"I think, malaki na ang naibahagi ko sa kanya," Kris said. "Kami naman ni Boy talaga are very much involved in the media aspect, meaning 'yong mga commercials niya later on, 'yong participation ng stars sa kanya.
"Also, kay Noy, I think malaki na ang naibahagi ko as far as pananamit, pangungulit sa paggugupit. Those are the things, he's not vain at all, he doesn't care about. Me, I'm vain so I care about that."
MORE SUPPORT FROM CELEBRITIES. When the music video "Hindi Ka Nag-Iisa" came out, many were surprised to see the number of celebrities who joined the first music video for Noynoy's campaign.
Kris said that there were still some celebrities who approached her family to express their support for Noynoy.
The TV host-actress told PEP, "Ang nakakatuwa is, many more stars ang nag-express ng their willingness to support Noy. So, siguro, siyempre during the election proper, plataporma na ni Noy ang importante. Pero hindi mo rin naman maalis na stars play a very important role in the political landscape. And since they are volunteering their services and binibigay nila, siyempre, thank you."
One of the showbiz personalities Kris mentioned was multi-awarded actress and Batangas Gov. Vilma Santos. She related, "Naisip ko rin just the other day, I'm going to Batangas on Tuesday doon sa panunumpa niya. She called me personally to make sure na pupunta ako. So, parang, sabi ko nga, 'Wow! In one commercial, kung mapagsasama-sama mo si Ate Vi, ako, si Sharon, si Korina, di ba, parang wow!'"
Does this mean there will be another video similar to "Hindi Ka Nag-IIsa?"
