"In the first two days in his last week, nakakausap pa siya. Yung first day mahina na, pero naririnig pa. To the last minute, rume-respond siya. The night before nang mag-Mass si Monsignor Clem, sabi niya sa amin, 'You know at this point, unti-unti nang nawawala yung senses.' But the last to go, he said, was hearing. So sabi niya, 'You whisper to his ear and you touch him. Assure him na he's going to a better place," kuwento ni Ina.
So, there was no pain?
"Yung pain... he was under pain meds. Inasikaso talaga namin na you know if he's going, ayaw namin na mag-suffer pa siya, as much as possible.
Pero yun nga, I thanked him talaga. I thanked him for the life that he's giving me and for everything na na-instill niya sa akin. And you know kasi si Daddy, siya yung... OA siyang tao kumbaga. Parang every time I go into something, ang layo-layo ng tingin niya. Feeling niya, kaya naming abutin yun. Ikaw, parang very unsure. Pero siya, sigurado siya. So, that's what I'm really gonna miss. Ngayon, pipilitin kong ako yung mangarap and I'll go for it."
What can she tell her Mom and her Ate Ana at this point?
"Kami, we're trying to be strong for each other.
"I really want to take this time to thank everyone who prayed for him. Since the time na nagba-battle siya with cancer hanggang sa huling sandali yung mga nagdadasal talaga, maraming salamat."

from PEP:
Christopher de Leon also shared his funny stories of Johnny Delgado... Johnny was a fun guy to be with, recalled Boyet, who enjoyed being with Johnny and his siblings. Johnny once saved his life while they were scuba diving in the '80s...
quot; It's an honor for me... it's an honor for us to be part of Johnny's life, for him to be very close to Sandy and I. He was very protective as a brother, quot; Christopher said in closing. He sang Skylark's quot;Wildflowerquot; afterwards for Johnny.
