Although Kris Aquino and James Yap have agreed to let Baby James appear in her upcoming teleserye, the proud parents want strict working hours for their son. Baby James Yap, son of TV host-actress Kris Aquino and basketball player James Yap, is now officially the youngest talent of ABS-CBN network. (CLICK HERE to read related article)
Soon the two-year-and-eight-month-old kid will be working with his mother in his first TV series titled Kung Tayo'y Magkakalayo, which is slated to be shown in the first quarter of 2010.
Kris said it's okay for her second son to play small roles since he's not yet in a regular school.
"When he's already in grade one, siyempre doon, structured na talaga. Gusto ko na mag-focus siya sa pag-aaral at that point. Ngayon na puwede pa, na parang laro pa lang, join na siya," said Kris.
Of course, Baby James's role won't be as serious as that of other kids in a teleserye.
Kris related, "Dini-discuss na namin na parang sabi ko, 'Mag-aaway-away tayo kung pipilitin niyo siyang umiyak.' Di ba, baka naman psychologically ma-warp na siya at such an early age. 'Yong role, basically, he came as a gift to the family noong time na medyo nagkakagulo ang family."
The program's production team has already prepared for Baby James's appearance in the show. For example, since her son is a Michael Jackson, ''Yong production, kinumpleto na nila lahat daw ng mga Michael Jackson na music video at mga movie na nahanap nila.'
James Yap also had a strict request about his son's working hours.
"Strict working hours, 2:00-8:00 p.m. lang," Kris told PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal).
She continued, "'Yon lang ang hours niya kasi 'yon lang ang pinagkasunduan ni James at ni Deo [Endrinal, ABS-CBN Business Unit Head]. Kasi sabi ni James baka hindi na siya tumangkad. So, kailangan talaga 'yon na 'yon. Maximum of four hours a day lang 'yong work kasi 'yong 2:00-8:00 p.m. may warm up na 'yan, may play-play ng konti at alam ng buong production na 'yon lang 'yon."
Kris will also be working with ABS-CBN's current hottest love team, Kim Chiu and Gerald Anderson, together with prime Kapamilya actors Albert Martinez and Gabby Concepcion.
