"I miss his jokes, I miss him breaking my balls, I miss him humbling me. He's the only man brave enough to say... well, I suck in acting. And no one's ever told me that. Sabi niya, 'Wala... rockstar pa rin ang acting mo.' I can take that. It's his way of telling me to improve my craft. And he can say that because he's Johnny Delgado," lahad ni Marc.
Parang nawalan naman ng kapatid si Christopher de Leon sa pagkawala ni Johnny. "He's my kuya. Four decades kaming magkakasama and he's always been like a brother to me. He's outspoken and frank, minsan nagkakasamaan ng loob, but that's how brothers are. Gano'n ang magkakapatid, nagkakasamaan ng loob. For a while di kami magkikita pero pag nagkita naman... Marami na rin kaming pinagdaanan... mga rambol, mga parties. I will miss him."
Para naman kay Tirso Cruz III, mami-miss niya nang husto ang pagiging jolly, pagiging life of the party, at ang pagiging prangka ng kaibigan niya.
"Si Johnny, makakapag-iwan siya ng message at advice sa iyo pero dadaanin niya sa biro, dadaanin niya sa patawa, although laging seryoso. Straight to the point 'yan. Sabi ko nga, Johnny will always shoot straight to the ear. Pag ayaw niya, ayaw niya. Pag gusto niya, gusto niya. Pag may napuna siya sa iyo, sasabihin niya sa iyo. Pag may ginawa kang mali, he will tell you straight to your face. 'Mali ka do'n, hindi maganda ang ginawa mong iyon. Bakit gano'n ang trabaho mo?'
"Pero alam mong it's not negative, it's not to put you down. Ang sa kanya, para bang, 'I expect more from you.' Because he has faith in you. And that's a true friend. I would rather have one friend like that than ten thousand na puro ipa-pump up lang ako na kahit na mali na 'ko, kahit na hindi maganda ang ginagawa ko, just to please me. I would rather have a Johnny Delgado na who would tell me straight to my face na mali ang ginagawa ko. Pero the other side of the coin naman is pag may ginawa kang maganda, talagang all praises ka sa kanya."
