Ito ang naging pahayag ni Ciara Sotto nang tanungin siya kung iiwan ba niya ang showbiz pagkatapos ng nakatakda niyang pagpapakasal sa kanyang long-time boyfriend na si Joe Oconer. (CLICK HERE to read related article)
"My fiancé knows that even before I met him, I'm married to my career I'm never gonna leave showbiz. I won't stop doing movies, singing, dancing. Sorry na lang, ta-tumbling-tumbling pa rin ako kahit may asawa na," paliwanag ng dalagang anak ng dating senador na si Tito Sotto at batikang aktres na si Helen Gamboa sa press conference ng Mano Po 6 kagabi, Disyembre 15, sa Imperial Palace Suites sa Tomas Morato Avenue, Quezon City.
Dagdag pa ng 29-year-old singer-actress, hindi naman daw magiging problema kung magpapatuloy pa rin siya sa kanyang trabaho dahil, "Alam na niya na bago ko pa siya makilala, talagang showbiz na 'yong buhay ko."
Sa ngayon, pinaghahandaan na ng magkasintahan ang kanilang nalalapit na kasal. Subalit di pa rin nila matukoy ang tiyak na araw ng kasal dahil sa darating na eleksyon sa Mayo 2010.
Ayon kay Ciara, "Ipa-finalize pa namin, kasi 'yon nga, I'm trying to consider din 'yong elections. Kasi 'yong dad ko and 'yong brother ko [Gian Sotto, who's running for Quezon City councilor], kailangan naming mag-campaign for them."
Gayunman, siniguro ng dalaga na magiging simple lamang ang kanyang pakikipag-isang dibdib kay Mr. Oconer kahit na mga kilalang artista pa ang kanyang mga magulang.
"The simpler the better," sabi ni Ciara. "I'm trying to make it as private as it can be and as intimate as it can be. So, kung may showbiz man, si Tito Vic [Sotto] ko ang ninong, si Mother Lily [Monteverde] ang ninang, ganun."
WORKING WITH SHARON. Samantala, lubos naman ang kaligayahan ng dalagang aktres na sa ikalawang pagkakataon ay muli niyang makakatrabaho ang kanyang pinsan, si Megastar Sharon Cuneta.
Unang nagsama ang dalawa sa pelikulang Minsan, Minahal Kita (2000). Ngunit para kay Ciara, ito ang maituturing na unang pelikula niya kasama si Sharon dahil mas magkalapit ang role nila sa pelikula.
"Ito ang first film ko [with her] na mas meaty ang role, mas importante, mas challenging talaga. So, parang first na rin 'yon with her," sabi ni Ciara.
Bagama't kilalang magaling na aktres ang kanyang pinsan, hindi naman daw na-intimidate si Ciara dahil magaan katrabaho ang kanyang Ate Sharon.
Paglalarawan pa niya, "Kasi si Ate parang kapatid namin. Siyempre, may eksena na parang ang galing niya na mapapanood ka na lang. Pero she won't let you feel intimidated kasi she's very professional. She cares about her co-actors, to make you feel comfortable, and she'll even share some tips and suggestions."
Sa kabila ng mga papuri na binigay ni Sharon at ng isa pang aktres na kasama sa pelikula, si Divine Diva Zsa Zsa Padilla, hindi naman daw umaasa si Ciara na makakakamit ng isang acting award sa darating na Metro Manila Film Festival.
Para sa kanya, "Alam niyo, masabi lang po nila 'yan, award na po 'yon sa akin. So, hindi naman po talaga ako nag-e-expect. I'm not expecting anything. Like I said, mapuri lang po ako ni Ms. Zsa Zsa Padilla, award na po 'yon sa akin."
