Although Patrick Garcia is not in the indie film Sagrada Familia, he was present during the premiere night held at Cinema 3 of Robinsons Galleria last December 23. According to the GMA-7 actor, he was there to lend support to director Joel Lamangan, young actress Lovi Poe, and his former co-star, Emilio Garcia.
He was not, he stressed to PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) courting Lovi, they are just good friends. That night, Lovi took the opportunity to introduce Patrick to her mother, Rowena Moran.
Sagrada Familia is the story of a father who rapes and abuses his daughter (played by Lovi Poe) when his wife (played by Snooky Serna) goes abroad to work as a nurse. (CLICK HERE to read more about this indie film)
Patrick expressed admiration for Emilio Garcia, who plays the abusive father. "Humanga ako kay Emilio. I worked with him previously in Kung Aagawin Mo ang Lahat sa Akin where he played my father. Ang galing niya. Everything was good, the direction..."
LONGING FOR HIS SON. Until now, Patrick is saddened by the fact that he still cannot see his son Alex Jazz even though it's Christmas time. "I want to see him badly pero wala pa kaming communication ni Jennylyn [Mercado, the mother of their son]. It will happen. I'm praying for it."
If he could give a Christmas gift to his son, what would it be?
"To be a good father. To be by his side whenever he needs me. Material things won't be enough to make him happy. The presence of a father would really be important."
How about presenting a gift to the mother of his child? Patrick paused for a long time before he answered, "I don't know. I just hope whatever the problem is, I hope she tells me personally. She came out on TV, she never talked to me personally. Kumbaga she broke up with me, sa TV ko na lang nalaman. Kumbaga, there's been a media hype ever since she got pregnant. For once, let's just be human beings. We have a son... it's not just about us anymore. It's about Jazz."
Patrick has been bonding with his baby niece Claire Kendra Kramer, the first-born child of his sister Chesca and brother-in-law Doug Kramer. "Ang cute-cute. Para siyang manyika! Sobrang cute! I'm very happy for my sister and I hope someday, Jazz will be able to meet Kendra. I hope they will get to play together."
What are his wishes for 2010? "I hope 2010 will be better and that it would be much lighter in terms of career and maybe lovelife. Don't look for love, love will find you."
