"I'm really thankful talaga kasi nabigyan ako kaagad ng show [after Katorse].  I mean, there's really more room to learn," says Xian Lim about landing a part in ABS-CBN's upcoming primetime series Rubi.

Coverboys member Xian Lim lands another goody role in ABS-CBN's newest primetime show, which is the local adaptation of the Mexicanovela Rubi.

"Dito naman, anak ako sa labas. Instead of coming from a good family sa Katorse, dito, anak ako sa labas. Medyo mayroon siyang difference sa characters, kasi para siyang may nililihim sa loob," says Xian about his role during the media junket prepared for the show last Monday, February 8, at the Eastwood City, Libis, Quezon City.

The hunk actor tells PEP (Philippine Entertainment portal) that  playing the role is easy because he's naturally a good boy.

"Actually, madali lang kasi mabait naman talaga ako," he says, smiling. "Okay lang talaga kasi natural naman akong mabait, hindi ako 'yong pasaway. Like my role sa Katorse, mabait din ako. 'Yon na lang ang pinaghuhugutan ko."

The Fil-Am actor, who entered showbiz in 2008, became part of Eva Fonda, My Girl, Your Song: My Only Hope, and Midnight DJ. From these shows, Xian followed his learning-curve in acting.

"It's a never-ending learning process talaga, so I'm happy na consistent kasi kapag consistent, ibig sabihin talagang natututo ka," he says.

He also thanks the actors who have been supporting him fully.  "Kapag nasa set, sa mga veteran actors, talagang tanong lang ako nang tanong. Like, kapag sila Sir Gardo Verzosa, Ms. Cherie Gil, talagang they give advice like, 'Take your time.'  So, I learn a lot just being on the set."

ON PLAYING SUPPORT.  When Katorse was launched Xiam was billed as one of the lead actors. However, some viewers observed that his character had less exposure when Enchong's character entered the picture.

Xiam says he didn't have any problem at all with the management's decision to make his character a supporting role to Enchong Dee-Erich Gozales-Ejay Falcon love triangle.

"Okay lang naman po sa akin, e.  Trabaho lang naman po ito and wala namang samaan ng loob," he states.

He adds, "Enchong was part of the cast po from the start. And based on my character, 'yon pa rin naman po. Consistent naman ang pagiging Albert ko. I guess, napagdesisyunan ng management na the story is better this way, so I respected their decision."

Xian also mentions that he is still in touch with his Katorse co-actors even if the show has already ended.  "With the cast, nag-uusap pa rin kami," he says.

On a separate note, when asked about his plan to court Erich, Xian replied briefly: "I realized that I wanna work. Talagang dapat work muna ang inuuna. The opportunity comes knocking on the door once."
