"Every relationship has problems and we have our share of problems. We're not a perfect relationship that everyone should pattern or follow our relationship. But the thing that we do is we find ways to solve the problems that we encountered and that's what we are doing now," says Derek Ramsay on his situation with Angelica Panganiban.

Pumirmang muli ang hunky actor na si Derek Ramsay ng two-year exclusive contract sa ABS-CBN.
"It's a two-year contract of being a Kapamilya once again that I'm very, very happy about. Sinabi ko nga sa ibang interviews ko, hindi ko naman kailangan ng contarct based on how I was brought up, on how I grew up. My loyalty is always with someone who gave me respect, and ABS is always giving me respect. They trust me with all the shows that they gave and they showed to me that I am a value to their company," masayang sabi ni Derek, na kasama ang manager niyang si Joji Dingcong na pumirma ng kontrata.
Ang ilan sa mga ginawang teleserye ni Derek sa ABS-CBN ay ang mga sumusunod: Ang Panday, Super Inggo, Ysabella, Maging Sino Ka Man: Ang Pagbabalik, Nasaan Ka Maruja, The Wedding, at ang kasalukuyang ipinalalabas na Habang May Buhay.
GRETCHEN BARRETTO. Kasama sa bagong kontratang pinirmahan ni Derek sa Kapamilya network ang isang primetime series kung saan makakasama niya sina Gretchen Barretto at Bea Alonzo.
"Excited ako na hindi pa nga nasisimulan ang telesreye na 'yan, pinag-uusapan na talaga. One step at a time muna, I think mag-uumpisa kami ng bagong soap on April."
Dagdag ni Derek, "You know, I haven't had the opportunity to really meet her [Gretchen]. In passing I met her and introduced a couple of times. She's really beautiful naman. She seems nice and one of the biggest names in the industry. So, medyo intimidated akong makatrabaho siya.
"Si Bea, one of the biggest names out there. But I worked with her and she's really, really nice to me, even though lagi ko siyang inaaasar. Kumportable na akong makipagtrabaho sa kanya."
May mga balita na si Gretchen mismo ang nag-request na si Derek ang makapareha. "Yummy" pa nga raw ang description ng aktres sa aktor. Ano ang masasabi ni Derek dito?
"Dun sa ni-request daw ako ni Gretchen, same thing as the first time I was asked that, I don't know what to say on something like that because it's coming from someone that big like Gretchen Barretto. It was just a nice feeling. Hindi pa rin ako nagsasawa. I still smile and still waiting for that reaction that I'm gonna give the first day I'm gonna meet and work with her."
Hindi kaya pagselosan ng girlfriend ni Derek na si Angelica Panganiban si Gretchen, lalo't madalas ay nali-link ang aktres sa mga leading men niya?
"Not at all, hindi selosa si Angelica," sabi ni Derek. "Ako, I don't believe in those stuff. I make judgment for myself when I get to know the person. I don't want to make assumptions. I'm waiting to work with her and have an opinion of who she is. And just now, for me, she's a smart and decent woman and I'm very excited to work with her."
ANGELICA PANGANIBAN. Speaking of Angelica, kinumusta ng PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) kay Derek ang relasyon nila ng young actress.
Matatandaang nabalita na nag-break diumano ng three weeks sina Derek at Angelica, pero nagkabalikan din agad. Pero sa panayam naman ng hunky actor sa The Buzz noong March 7, itinanggi niya na nag-break sila ng aktres bagamat inamin niyang nagkaroon sila ng problema. (CLICK HERE to read related story.)
"We're very good," sagot ni Derek. "Si Angel, hindi naman natatago ang emosyon niyan. Pagka may problema, hindi mo maitatago yun. I don't believe in cool off, e. It's not the first time we've gone to this kind of situation, na we decided, 'Hey, let's think of this over, let's see if it's worth.' We're getting back together and continuing the relationship. Each time we tend to go on separate ways, we end up coming back. I can say nothing can stop us from growing."
Dagdag niya, "Hindi ko alam kung saan nanggaling yung three weeks [breakup] na sinasabi nila. I don't know if it's shorter or longer. I don't think it's the longest time that we ever separated."
Ano naman ang reaksiyon niya sa kumalat na balitang "verbally abused" daw sa kanya si Angelica?
"Regarding that verbally abused issue, no, I don't verbally abuse Angelica," diin ni Derek. "If I did that, ang nanay ko ang papatay sa akin! Mom always told me, 'Kahit hindi mo gusto especially ang isang babae, hindi mo dapat gawin yun.
"They got the files. Ako yung tao na gusto ko may tamang place, tamang oras para pag-usapan ang mga bagay. Kasi kapag mainit pa ang anger mo, you might say things that you don't want to say. That's what I avoid. That's why I always take my time, ako yung tahimik lang. Actually, 'yan din ang nagiging problema sa akin ni Angel kasi tahimik lang ako na tao," paliwanag niya.
Marami ang nagtatanong na hindi kaya si Angel ang may tendency na mag-verbal abuse kay Derek, lalo't kilalang honest at prangka ang aktres?
"Same thing with Angel. She never raised her voice at me, she never yells or scream, umiiyak lang. We're helping each other out, we're learning new things... All those rumors that I don't know kung bakit lumalabas, there's no truth on that," saad niya.
SAIDA OF EB BABES. Nang pumutok ang isyu tungkol sa breakup diumano nina Derek at Angelica ay biglang nadawit ang pangalan ng EB Babes member na si Saida Diola. Ayon sa report, si Saida raw ang third party sa hiwalayan ng Kapamilya stars.
