The recent Binibining Pilipinas 2010 pageant doesn't mean that singer Jay-R and girlfriend Krissa Mae Arrieta will have more quality time together.
Now that Krissa Mae has won the Bb. Pilipinas-International title, she would have to undergo intensive trainings and lessons in preparation for the Miss International pageant while participating in the various humanitarian projects of the Binibining Pilipinas Charities, Inc.
Jay-R and Krissa barely had time for each other during the course of the pageant as she fulfilled all the tasks required of the contestants, like sponsor visits, press engagements, and other activities.
"Siguro mga ten minutes lang kami magkita, okay na 'yon," the singer told PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) at the launching of his new album, Jay-R Sings OPM Love Classics, held recently at Linden Suites in Ortigas, Pasig City.
SERENADING KRISSA. This year's Binibining Pilipinas saw the staging of a pre-pageant event held a week before the actual coronation night. Incidentally, Jay-R was tapped by GMA-7 to sing to the ladies along with good friend Kris Lawrence and American Idol Season 6 contender AJ Tablado.
Jay-R admitted that the production number was not easy since he had to give equal attention to all the candidates and not just focus on his girlfriend.
"Kailangan maging professional, di ba? Siyempre hindi puwede na siya [Krissa Mae] lang 'yong ihaharana ko. Siyempre gusto ko ipakita sa tao na hindi ako bias. So 'yong time na kinakantahan ko 'yong mga girls, pare-pareho 'yong length ng harana ko sa kanila," he said.
Jay-R never doubted Krissa Mae's chances of winning at least one of the three titles at stake. "Sa lahat ng contestants, siya talaga 'yong litaw," he remarked with pride.
As for possible intrigues following Krissa Mae's latest achievement, Jay-R said he's ready to face them, though he can't speak for his girlfriend since "medyo bago lang siya."
We asked Jay-R if he's the jealous type and he replied, "Depende, but very considerate naman siya sa feelings ko."
