Kung nagawang punuin ng Pambansang Kamao ang Cowboys Stadium sa Arlington, Texas—kung saan halos 51,000 katao ang nanood noong huling laban niya kay Joshua Clottey, mukhang kabaligtaran naman ang nangyari sa concert niya sana sa Waikiki Shell sa Honolulu, Hawaii.
Hindi na matutuloy ang concert ni Manny Pacquiao sa Honolulu sa darating na Linggo, March 21, dahil mahina ang ticket sales nito.
Lumabas ngayong araw, March 17, sa breaking news section ng Honolulu Advertiser ang complete report ni Dave Dondoneau tungkol sa cancellation: "Manny Pacquiao's Hawaii concert canceled because of poor ticket sales."
Sa panayam ng Honolulu Advertiser kay Ryan Chang ng Island Fire Productions, 603 tickets pa lang daw ang naibebenta nila. Nagkakahalaga ang mga ticket ng $25 hanggang $150.
Ayon kay Chang, 8,500 ang capacity ng Waikiki Shell kaya kailangan daw nilang makabenta ng at least 2,500 tickets para maka-break even man lang. Pero dahil sa mababang ticket sales ay nagdesisyon silang kanselahin na lang ang concert.
Kung natuloy ang naturang concert, kikita sana si Manny ng $100,000 para sa one-hour performance niya. Sa nakaraang laban ng Pinoy boxer kay Clottey, inaasahang kikita siya ng $17 to $20 million dahil sa pay-per-view cut niya.
