Hindi na matutuloy ang concert ni Manny Pacquiao sa Honolulu sa darating na Linggo, March 21, dahil mahina ang ticket sales nito.
Lumabas ngayong araw, March 17, sa breaking news section ng Honolulu Advertiser ang complete report ni Dave Dondoneau tungkol sa cancellation: "Manny Pacquiao's Hawaii concert canceled because of poor ticket sales."
Sa panayam ng Honolulu Advertiser kay Ryan Chang ng Island Fire Productions, 603 tickets pa lang daw ang naibebenta nila. Nagkakahalaga ang mga ticket ng $25 hanggang $150.
Ayon kay Chang, 8,500 ang capacity ng Waikiki Shell kaya kailangan daw nilang makabenta ng at least 2,500 tickets para maka-break even man lang. Pero dahil sa mababang ticket sales ay nagdesisyon silang kanselahin na lang ang concert.
Kung natuloy ang naturang concert, kikita sana si Manny ng $100,000 para sa one-hour performance niya. Sa nakaraang laban ng Pinoy boxer kay Clottey, inaasahang kikita siya ng $17 to $20 million dahil sa pay-per-view cut niya.

like i said, the concertgoers do not attend manny's 'concert' for the dismal singing. it's more about wallowing in manny's achievements and the pride he has brought to the country. so...ever since pumutok yung krista scandal, he has tarnished his total image kahit papaano. needless to say, his boxing image is going great guns; he is truly a great boxer.
pwede ring na-cancel dahil sa global economic downturn.

George Michael, yes George Michael had a concert in Abu Dhabi a few years ago and when the pricey tickets were not selling for some reason - guess what they did - they priced the remaining unsold tickets with the lowest price in order to fill up the stadium. He did not need the money but he did not want to perform in a half filled stadium - which is really weird because globally all his concerts are sold out and Abu Dhabi was the only exception. Iyan ang case - na hindi pera ang issue...but that the show must go on for the others who wanted to watch him to begin with. I dont think Manny viewed it that way.

With regards to the Pardo case - it really boggles one's sensibilities how that case can just be dismissed as if it was a mere parking or driving violation.
But as someone whom I personally respect in PEP said - lets wait for the version of the lawyers of the Pardos for the final report before we lose sleep over it.If it were true - I am not happy about it. And if it can be ascertained that someone somewhere helped speed up its dismissal - I can only say - that for sure they have something to answer to. Di ba?
