In a way, naapektuhan ang Platinum Prince of Pop na si Jay-R sa mga balitang lumalabas tungkol sa kanyang girlfriend, ang Bb. Pilipinas-International 2010 na si Krista Arrieta Kleiner—o mas kilala noon bilang Krissa Mae Arrieta.
Bigla kasing nasangkot ang beauty queen-girlfriend ni Jay-R sa ginawang pagbawi sa korona ng nanalong Bb. Pilipinas-Universe 2010 na si Maria Venus Raj. May kumalat kasing tsismis na si Krista raw ang nagbuking kay Venus tungkol sa tunay nitong nationality sa Binibining Pilipinas Charities, Inc. (BPCI). Sabi ay gusto raw kasi ni Krista ang korona ni Venus kaya niya ito siniraan.
IT'S UNFAIR. Mabilis na dumipensa si Jay-R at sinabing masyado naman daw unfair na akusahan si Krista, lalo na't wala ito sa bansa ngayon. In his own little way, ang host ng bagong reality dating game show ng GMA-7 na Take Me Out na ang nagtanggol sa kanyang girlfriend.
"I shouldn't be talking about this since hindi naman ako involved, but it involves my girlfriend. So, I'm talking right now in her defense," umpisa ni Jay-R sa PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal).
"First of all, that rumor is not true. Krista will never do anything bad to Venus because magkaibigan naman sila. Krista was likewise worried when rumors came out about the dethroning issue. She was also concerned about Venus.

Hindi lang daw si Krista ang apektado kundi pati ang buong pamilya nito sa U.S.
"The last time we talked, she was medyo affected because she's not in the country to defend herself. She so much wants to say something but she would rather keep quiet muna and save it when she comes home. But she hopes that when she returns, tapos na ang issue with Venus.
"Even her family in California is somehow affected. They know how much Krista worked hard just to fulfill her dreams as a beauty queen. I saw that also and it's really unfair to accuse her of anything negative.
"But her family said that Krista is taking it lightly. She doesn't want it to affect her work abroad. So I assured her family that Krista is okay. Nakausap na rin ni Krista ang family niya and she said not to worry about her. Krista is a very strong person and I know she will go through this unscathed," saad ni Jay-R.
KRISTA WITH JULIO IGLESIAS. Naikuwento ni Jay-R sa PEP na hindi natuloy ang plano nilang cruise sana ni Krista noong nakaraang Holy Week dahil tinanggap ng kanyang girlfriend ang offer na maging part ng world tour ng sikat na Spanish singer na si Julio Iglesias. Isa si Krista sa back-up singers/dancers sa show ni Iglesias.
Pero naintindihan naman daw ni Jay-R ang mga kagustuhan ng kanyang girlfriend. Compared nga naman sa cruise ay mas pipiliin ng kahit sino ang makasama sa world tour ang isang sikat na singer.
"How can you compare a simple cruise to a world tour, di ba? You have first-class accommodations in every hotel, restaurants, and airports. Then you get to perform in the biggest venues around the world. Kaya naintindihan ko naman si Krista. Once in a lifetime lang nga darating ang ganitong opportunity and she should grab it.
"Just recently, Krista did a duet with Julio in one of their shows and it was an awesome experience. When I talked to Krista, she couldn't believe that she did a duet with the one and only Julio Iglesias. Kaya happy ako for what she's doing now and I support her in that.
"I know that there will be other chances that me and Krista will have a vacation together. Right now, she's enjoying everything because this is her dream and I want her dreams to come true," ngiti pa ni Jay-R.
Sa June pa raw matatapos ang world tour ni Julio Iglesias kaya matiyagang maghihintay si Jay-R para kay Krista. Pero constant naman daw ang communication nila.
"There's the Internet, there's texting, there's Skype. Lahat ng puwedeng communication, ginagawa namin. We're updating each other. Like kelan lang, she congratulated me on my show Take Me Out. She's so happy for me because she knows how much I like to have my own show sa GMA-7.
"She said nga that she wished na nandito siya to watch me. But she's already committed herself to the tour and I understand. All I have to do now is wait for her to come home."
TRUSTING EACH OTHER. Diin pa ni Jay-R, malaki ang tiwala nila sa isa't isa. Sigurado si Jay-R na hindi mai-in love si Krista kay Julio Iglesias at hindi naman daw siya makikipag-date sa iba.
"We so trust each other kaya wala kaming problema sa distance namin. Krista said that Julio treats her like a daughter. Mabait daw at parang father talaga sa kanilang lahat sa tour.
