Looking at Georgina Wilson and her slender frame, it's hard to believe that she used to battle the bulge.

"I was a chubby kid. I struggled with my weight a lot. I tried all sorts of diets so I could lose weight," she tells Women's Health Philippines in its May issue.

The diets gave her a flat tummy all right, but they also left her feeling weak. "I decided that I didn't want that... I realized that exercise is the only way to take care of your body," she says, "It's as much of a necessity as eating."

That's why she makes the time to work out five to six times a week despite her busy schedule. A model, host, and VJ for Channel [V], Georgina has certainly come a long way from just being the Australia-based ex-girlfriend of Richard Gutierrez. But she still has her reservations about diving deep into showbiz waters.

"Showbiz is a tough industry," she tells Women's Health. "It's very rewarding too, but one wrong move and things can turn out differently."

Georgina knows all about how one move can make all the difference. After all, her decision to visit friends and family in Manila over the holidays led to her eventual stay, even as a job in a global accounting firm in London awaited.

"My life has changed so much in the last five months," she says, acknowledging that she is at a crossroads and that there are many other things she can do.

"I'm taking it one day at a time. I never close the doors. But modeling is fun right now, and I'm currently happy with the way things are."
