Brazilian model-turned-actor Fabio Ide is very happy with his lucky streak in GMA-7. He now stars in two shows for the Kapuso network: Comedy Bar and Ang Yaman ni Lola, which will start on Monday, August 23.
"So, siyempre, sobrang masaya ako kasi, you know, people recognize me, people appreciate your job, people see that you're working—and it seems that everything's working. So, I'm really actually glad, so very happy, so very overwhlemed, so very, I don't know how to explain. Too many good things happening at the same time," he told PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) last night, August 19, during the launch of One Naturales at SM Makati.
Fabio, 26, credited his success to hard work. He actually got his own teacher to teach him Tagalog.
"Meron akong teacher na nagtuturo sa akin ng Tagalog dalawang beses isang linggo. I really need to speak Tagalog para, you know, for showbiz, for soap opera," he said.
He also told PEP he wants to stay single so that he can focus on his career.
"Ngayon, wala nang girlfriend," he said. "Mag-isa. Kasi, really really focusing on my work now. I really wanna study Tagalog, singing class, dancing class."
He is also curtailing his night life for the moment.
"Sobrang gusto ko pumunta sa club or mag-party, para yung relax, 'di ba? Pero for now, I'm just really focusing in working hard, having a stable life here. Be recognized for Comedy Bar and my new show Yaman ni Lola, and then, maybe, if I find the right person then, why not? To fall in love again."
What does he want in a girl?
"I like girls that are very smart, very funny, very athletic, that loves to play sports, and loves to have fun. And very humble, very down-to-earth. Someone who you'll not be worried about, like, being famous. Just being herself," he said.
He is also open to falling in love and settling down with a Filipina.
"Oo naman," he said. "Kasi dahil yung nobya ko. Sobrang gusto ko ng Filipina. Kasi sobrang mabait, sobra... I mean she'll really take care of you, she'll really make you feel happy, feel comfortable. I already fell in love once, so why not again, 'di ba?"
Still, Fabio maintained that he does not want a relationship right now. He does not even have a current crush, according to him.
" Crush, wala nang crush ngayon, pero I worked with Isabelle Oli. Very pretty, very smart also. I worked with her, like I'm not saying I have a crush on her, pero she's really nice. I like, of course, like Iza Calzado, also my friend. I really respect her as a talent, as an artista. Sobrang galing niyang artista, 'di ba? I worked with Marian Rivera, some very good actress, pero yung crush ko, I think, wala. Wala," he said.
