Bukod sa pag-aartista, nais ni TJ Trinidad na seryosohin ang pagiging isang direktor.

In fact, nakagawa na siya ng isang indie movie, Ang Kahihinatnan ng Aking Mga Kabalbalan, sa ilalim ng sarili niyang produksiyon, ang Mind The Gap Films. Una itong ipinalabas sa Cinemalaya Film Festival this year.

"I wrote and directed it, and recently yun lumabas, September. And it's showing in the provinces now.

"It stars Jodi Sta Maria, Gina Alajar, Ketchup Eusebio, Epi Quizon, Bobby Andrews, ako, si Che Ramos, tapos may cameo [role] si Leo Martinez, si Ricky Davao. I did this, I shot this during Zorro," kuwento ni TJ sa PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) during the presscon of Beauty Queen sa Studio 5 ng GMA Network Center noong Martes ng gabi, October 12.

Bakit this year lang ipinalabas ang pinakaunang pelikulang idinirehe niya?

"Kasi matagal yung editing, yung preparation, yung post-prod. Matagal, e," paliwanag ng actor-director.

Nagsimula raw ang lahat sa pagsusulat ni TJ ng isang script.

"Kasi nasulat ko siya, e. So after you wrote it, sabi ko, what else is, you know, the natural progression of it? So I wanted to direct it then."

Hindi raw sana siya parte ng cast ng movie niya.

"I didn't want to act in it though. But everything, like the time for it, fell on my lap.

"Kumbaga, yung availability ko siyempre, I couldn't wait for the availability of another actor and all that. Kasi ang hirap mag-schdeile ko. I just did it."

Proud si TJ sa cast niya. "I got very good actors."

Definitely, may plano si TJ na sundan ang una niyang directorial venture.

"Oo. I'm trying to write something else now. Pero with regards with me writing and directing, matagal pa. Kasi I'm still writing another one."

Open din siya sa opportunity na magdirek ng script ng iba. Aniya, "With regards with just directing other people's work, sana. Sana magkaroon ako soon, like within next year."
