TV5 released a statement earlier today, April 10, announcing its decision "to stop the airing of Willing Willie" for two weeks beginning on Monday, April 11.

This move came after the March 12 episode of the variety-game show hosted by Willie Revillame elicited mostly negative reactions from different sectors and the public. In the said episode, a six-year-old boy danced a "macho-dancer routine" during the "Wiltime Bigtime" segment.

According to the statement, "During this period, TV5 will dialogue and work with the MTRCB, KBP, PANA and other stakeholders to come up with appropriate guidelines that will apply to all networks and the entire industry with respect to the participation or use of children in talent, game and reality shows for television."

It added that the Kapatid network "will also complete the improvement of its internal guidelines and processes to achieve the same end."

The network also said that it will work with Willie and WilProductions, Inc. "to improve the program and ensure that it will continue to bring fun and entertainment to its many loyal viewers."

In the end, "TV5 reiterates its commitment to responsible broadcasting and vows to continuously enhance its programs as its way of serving the public and thanking its viewers for their unceasing support, trust and patronage."

While Willing Willie is off-the-air, TV5 will show Primetime Super Sine and Magic? Gimik!

Please TV5, convince Willie to just enjoy his life and FORGET ABOUT THOSE POOR PEOPLE KASI ANG GOVT ANG DAPAT MAG-ASIKASO SA KANILA.. Also, dapat sina Aiza Seg, Jim Paredes, Bianca Gonzalez magtulong sa kanila naman kaysa puro cla satsat wala namang binakbak! Too funny!

willie refuses to ask forgiveness although he is apologising for what happened. Isn't it that an apology is an admission of guilt or wrongdoing therefore should ask to be forgiven for such a wrong doing. Interesting if Willie will still insist on not asking forgiveness if TV Management directly ask him to do so.

willie never admits his mistake. he's fast on pointing fingers at other people. gusto nito mandamay palagi, and he never owned any mistake that he made. he's very arrogant and considers himself above everyone. he should try to be humble, maybe people will forgive him then.

willih willie really does help people in need kasi nga game show, variety show ang palabas nya... but sana he's not so arrogant na porket nakakatulong e, hahanginin ang ulo or i-mock pati mga advertisers... producer sya ng show, oo but there are a lot of agencies involved to make it work and financially supporting the show the advertisers, the people who supports the show, the fans. sana lang he is humble enough to accept the wrongdoing and how he talks to people. wala yatang araw na di nya nabastos ang mga tao sa show o ang audience e... everytime i watched nangimgio ako kung paano nya i-trato ang mga kasama nya at mga contestants nya... for the money of course kaya naman tinatanngap nlng ng mga tao ang treatment nya sa mga ito... kulang lang si willie sa ka-disentehan o unawa na ang lahat ay dapat nirerespeto. may pinag-aralan ka man o wala... sa sarili mo alam mo ano ang ibig sabihin nito... lalona sya galing din sya sa hirap so dapat alam nya paano ang damdamin ng isang mahirap, mahirap na nga ma-iinsult

I don’t like Willie Revillame at all. But I hate more what a lot are doing to this guy. Peace be with you!

You know, I don' patronize Vaseline, Pepsodent, etc, caused those are not my kind of brands. I am just getting it lately cause of the WW show. But now I won't even look for them in the store. Those advertisers have no guts just because haters of WW are demanding a boycott. Sayang this medium has few masa if not patay rin sila sa boycott from mga so called real masa people.

Revillame may be off-putting and boorish at times, but being a regular viewer of “Willing Willie,” I can attest that the last thing he wants is to hurt or abuse anyone. In fact, you would feel his compassion for the poor and the needy. He has given scholarships to not a few contestants who have stopped schooling due to financial problems, and he has even given a break to contestants whose talents he genuinely appreciated.- INQUIRER EDITORIAL APR 11 2011

There is so much hate against Willie incl among celebrities. I used to watch his show at TFC and recall watching this boy break dancing during saturday. Forgot the boy's name but I guess Willie enlist him to appear on the show every saturday. This boy is ordinary looking, shaved head, street kid, not exactly a great dancer. This boy would not even win if example he join the Showtime contest. His face is plain looking that I doubt he can win any star search contest. Is the boy exploited? I dont know, but I hope having the chance to dance on TV BOOST HIS SELF WORTH. I commend Willie for giving this nondescript boy a chance to perform on his show.

Why make a well-paid host come out looking like a pimp? And why must an under-aged traumatized boy be used? Don't they have the slightest clue that such use constitutes child abuse? WR's show was despicable. It felt like he was prostituting poverty, making the poor pander to him for quick cash fixes, as he does on a daily basis, and never mind if it entails a kid being s-xed up and crying as Jan-Jan does so pitifully. Willie was acting like God, dispensing patronage to parents inured to the poverty they see as their lot in life - and if lewdness gets them instant cash, then so be it.

Thanks for confirming starking. Karangalan pala iyon eh. Naku naman talaga.

teka ano na ba nangyari sa demanda ng ABS sa kanya kala ko pa naman they can put a stop to this guy, eto as expected nagkalat na naman. Kc naman ang TV5 puro pera nasa utak u know what morals, decency and integrity is what will keep a show going its not all about money people can see right through that if your selling trash underneath your cake people will smell it. Change your values TV5 otherwise you won't be gettin Willie under your wing.
