Aside from the best supporting actor award won by Tirso Cruz III, Sigwa won digital movie of the year and Lamangan's first award as "indie" film director.  

The other awards won by Sigwa are as follows: best digital movie sound engineer (Alfredo 'Dodoy' Ongleo), production designer (Edgar Martin Littaua), editor (Bebs Gohetia), and cinematographer (Monino Duque).

SPECIAL AWARDS.  Present to receive the special awards of the evening were movie producer Mrs. Lily Monteverde and multi-awarded veteran actor-director Christopher "Boyet" de Leon.  

Mother Lily is the recipient of this year's Ulirang Alagad ng Pelikula Sa Likod Ng Kamera.  

Boyet de Leon, on the other hand, was chosen by the Philippine Movie Press Club (PMPC) to be this year's Ulirang Artista Lifetime Achievement Awardee.  

It was a night filled with nostalgia as Mother Lily was introduced and presented her award by former Regal babies Snooky Serna, William Martinez, and Richard Gomez (who was voted male Star of the Night).

Christopher, on the other hand, was cheered by buddy Tirso who presented him the special award. Pip's wife Lyn Ynchausti-Cruz and Boyet's actress-wife Sandy Andolong both graced the event.  

A special taped congratulatory message to Christopher was given by Batangas Governor Vilma Santos-Recto. 

The recipient of the Darling of the Press award, Laguna Governor ER Ejercito also graced the event with his wife Pagsanjan Mayor Maita Ejercito.

STAR-STUDDED. The glittering event, which started at 8 p.m., was attended by some of today's brightest celebrities from the local movie industry.  

Performers included Gary Valenciano, Vina Morales, Richard Poon, Erik Santos, Gab Valenciano, Maja Salvador, Enchong Dee, Erich Gonzales, Pauleen Luna, Rodjun Cruz, Ejay Falcon, Matteo Guidicelli, Matt Evans, Speed Dancers, and the UP Concert Chorus.

Awards presenters included actress-beauty queen Precious Lara Quigaman; hunk actors Tom Rodriguez and Xian Lim; sexy actress Ara Mina; veteran actor and Film Academy of the Philippines (FAP) director-general Leo Martinez; Sandy Andolong; Ella Guevarra, among others.

Directed by Al Quinn, the taped as live presentation of this year's 27th Star Awards for Movies was produced by Airtime Marketing, Inc. (headed by Ms. Tess Celestino-Howard), in cooperation with the PMPC.

Boy Abunda, Jericho Rosales, Toni Gonzaga, and Ai-Ai delas Alas acted as main hosts of the event.

Segment hosts were Piolo Pascual, KC Concepcion, Kim Chiu, Gerald Anderson, and Tito, Vic, & Joey.
