"The Filipinos make the trip worthwhile here every single time." Pop singer David Archuleta, who charmed Filipinos with his hit singles "Crush," "Little Too Not Over You," "Elevator," and "Something 'bout Love," was welcomed by screaming fans at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 2 today, January 13, on his 5:30 a.m. touchdown.

Upon his exit from the airport, the singer-songwriter was greeted by actresses Jasmine Curtis-Smith and Eula Caballero.

The two young TV5 talents will shoot a primetime soap series Nandito Ako with the American Idol season 7 runner-up.

It was David's first time to meet with Jasmine and Eula.

In a brief interview with the media, the charming singer expressed excitement over his project in the Philippines, his first major acting job.

David has only done cameo appearances before in Nickelodeon channel's Hannah Montana and iCarly.

While thrilled, David admits feeling jittery.

He says, "I've always been nervous about things when it comes to acting...

"But I just thought because...the Filipino fans are very supportive and very warm it kind of made it easier to [say], 'Okay, let's try it.'"

It is David's fourth visit in Manila and it will be his longest trip. The singer was in the country on July 2011 for a concert.

Asked what his best memory of the Philippines is, David answers, "The shows I've been able to do here were amazing.

"No matter where you go, the Filipinos are very warm, very welcoming and very kind."

Reacting to the Department of Tourism's ' It's more fun in the Philippines' campaign, David totally agrees with the slogan.

He says, "The Filipinos make the trip worthwhile here every single time."

Remember, mga pepsters, it doesn't matter naman if he's super sikat in the States or not. Again, this acting job is still a JOB. Something that could help his family financially. Saka iba naman sa States, iba dito. Siyempre sikat siya dito kasi hindi naman palagiang nakakasama ng mga Pinoy fans si Archuleta. At siyempre, he's just taking advantage of his popularity here, whatever the intensity is, to work. Wala namang masama at wala namang inaagrabiyadong tao ito. Mabait at magandang impluwensiya. Sana nga, maimpluwensiyahan ni David yung iba nating celebrity sa tabi tabi diyan.

David Archuleta is obviously a nice guy, but he is not sikat in the US just like some posts here indicate. He was dropped by his record label because of low record sales and his gigs in the US are in minor events that do not generate publicity. However, his plans to go on this missions trip for the Mormom church did make a little bit of news. Best of luck Archie.

It's too bad hindi nagkick in ng husto ang career niya dito sa America. More power to you and sana kahit diyan sa Pinas ay magtagumpay ka.

Come to Utah, attend even just one Sunday meeting at a Mormon church, and you'll see how different our young men and women are from those ones you see around. Not to sound self-righteous but our youth are very well-mannered and modestly dressed. David's personality is very common among Mormon youth, especially those ones who grew up in Utah where majority of the population are Mormons.

Learn to differentiate nice and homo. It's very rare na kasi to find a guy na kasing clean-cut ni David kay gay na kagad ang assumption ng mga haters. Just FYI, very common sa Mormon men na ganito, soft-spoken, humble, walang bisyo, not even a tattoo or pierced ear dahil bawal sa simbahan namin. Especially that David is going on a mission, he has to be extra careful not to commit a mistake that may disqualify him and not be able to go on a mission at all. His mission can be canceled anytime and that's a very big disappointment. Like a couple years ago, a friend of mine was leaving for his mission in 3 weeks, but he slept with his non-Mormon gf, and so his mission was cancelled. It was very sad because he had been preparing for his mission his whole teenage life, and it was all gone just in a blink of an eye, for one mistake. Good luck David!

He seem very mabait at humble kahit gwapo magaling pang kumanta at sikat internationally, unlike mga kapamilya actors na mga feeling, denial king at feel nila God's gift to women sila. David seem a God fearing person he will soon go on a gospel mission trip soon. Welcome to the Philippines David! enjoy your stay here and will watch your teleserye

Para po sa iba pa na nagko-comment naman against iambrainful... Again, this is not about network wars.

Don't compare him like other celebs because he's different and beyond of what you could ever imagine! Alam yan ng lahat ng mga fans nya he's more than just a heartthrob or a celebrity kung alam nyo lang kung anong klase syang tao you'll be inspired and amazed! Hindi nya pinagpalit yung values and principles nya just to get fame unlike other celebs in hollywood. Hindi mo aakalaing lumaki sya sa America! He's really a good person and his faith is what I admired the most!
