Angelika dela Cruz on her plan to enter politics: "Oo, gusto ko...para kay Edward. Kasi before, ako yung dapat tatakbo kaya lang gusto niya so nag-give way ako."

For a change, Angelika dela Cruz will not play a villainess in GMA-7's upcoming soap, Biritera.

"Oo, nahirapan nga ako e. Sabi ko kay Direk Maryo [delos Reyes], 'Ikaw Direk, ginawa mo pa akong mabait, imbes tuloy na hindi ako aarte, mag-e-effort pa akong umarte.' Tawa siya nang tawa," Angelika says.

POLITICS. May balitang tatakbo siya sa eleksyon next year bilang konsehala ng Malabon.

"Tingnan natin. Kung ako gusto ko, ako gusto ko talaga. Pero tingnan muna natin."

Ano ang pinagbabasehan niya kung itutuloy niya o hindi?

"Hindi ko pa kasi puwedeng sabihin, e. Pag official na."

Tatakbo siya bilang councilor, if ever.

"Oo, kung ano yung dapat kay Edward."

Kakapanalo pa lang ng kapatid niyang si Edward dela Cruz sa Malabon nang naaksidente ito at namatay noong June 2010.

May pangarap rin ba si Angelika na maging opisyal na mas mataas sa pagiging konsehala?

"Siguro. Depende pag halimbawa natuloy na tumakbo ako tapos manalo ako, kung maging maganda yung performance ko, bakit hindi?

"Pero kung hindi, hindi siyempre. Depende."

Gusto niya talaga na pasukin ang pulitika?

"Oo, gusto ko tsaka para kay Edward. Kasi before ako yung dapat tatakbo kaya lang gusto niya so nag-give way ako.

"So siya yung tumakbo."

FAMILY LIFE. Mas lalo siyang magiging busy...

"Iyon nga lang e, at least puwede kong dalhin yung anak ko.

I suppose however people study to learn the in's and out's of politics and yet still gets it wrong so really the chances of celebrity running a state or a country is very poor! Don't you think it's funny that a congressman is also a boxer or our senator is panday? How can u trust people who earns money for portraying a character! I have more list of artist that ate no good than ones that are okay!

Maybe she has a valid reason why she'd like to join politics, hindi porket celebrity ka wala ka ng magagawa kapag nahalal ka altough na may kamalian nga sa past pero sa palagay ko hindi batayan yun at FYI marami din mga celebrity na naging successful sa mundo ng pulitika.

Para kay Edward,,,kaya gusto nyang pumasok sa politics. Ano yon, laro? Nakagawian na nila na pumasok sa pulitika para magpa-cute at magsayang ng oras at sayangin ang pera ng publiko. Ganyan ba ang iboboto niyo?

Colminares, I agree. The thing is, they talk with such confidence in joining the world of politics. Its as if they have what it takes to make a big difference in solving problems. The reality is, the votes are from the ignorant, gullible masses who don't seem to know the difference between a celebrity and a regular politician. As long as its someone they've seen on television or paper, its as good as anybody. Its a sad world we live in. Its no wonder the Philippines is a laughing stock in other countries. They belittle Filipinos for our poor choices and band decisions. But despite this sad reality, Filipino celebrities continue to feed their egos. Please, please stick to your craft in show business and stop meddling in areas you know nothing about for the love of your country. It takes a certain kind of individual, with much focus, dedication and intelligence to figure out the needs of our country.
