These are: 10000 Hours, San Pedro Calungsod Batang Martir, Boy Girl Bakla Tomboy, Be Careful with My Heart, Pagpag, Kimmy Dora Prequel, My Super Kap and Torky and My Little Bossing.

The eight official entries for the 39th Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) were revealed earlier today, June 18.



Chairman Francis Tolentino of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) revealed the "Big 8," chosen from 15 screenplays that were submitted to the Executive Committee.

Deliberations were done by the 11 members of the MMFF Selection Committeee.



The eight entries in last year's edition were able to earn a total of P747 million, according to Mr. Tolentino, who serves as the MMFF's Overall Chairman.

Mr. Tolentino also announced the addition of the MMFF Animation Category this year.



Here are the following entries which will take part in the 39th Metro Manila Film Festival (in no particular order):

STANDBY ENTRIES. In case any of the eight chosen entries is not able to meet the deadline, the Executive Committee will check if the ninth and tenth entries are ready to fill in their place.

In last year's edition, Mga Kuwento ni Lola Basyang was pulled out from the competition, which allowed Brillante Mendoza's Thy Womb to be part of the annual film festival.

This year, landing in the ninth slot was the entry Kulay Abo ang Langit (HUBO Productions), which is supposed to star Carla Abellana, Diether Ocampo, Cherie Gil, and Matteo Guidicelli.


Everybody Loves (produced by Gung Ho Films Manila) landed in 10th place. Jake Cuenca, Jericho Rosales, Megan Young, and Maja Salvador are named as the lead stars of this project.

Other entries which were not chosen were Kaleidoscope World starring Sef Cadayona and Yassi Pressman; Sa Ngalan Ng Ama, Ina at Mga Anak (Kuratong Baleleng) starring  Robin Padilla, Daniel Padilla, and Mariel Rodriguez; and Boy Golden starring Jeorge Estregan Jr. and KC Concepcion.
