Maja Salvador admits she was surprised when she was told that John Lloyd Cruz and Ellen Adarna were set to tie the knot soon.
This is in relation to reports that Ellen is pregnant with John Lloyd's child, and that they are engaged to be married.
Neither John Lloyd nor Ellen has confirmed or denied these supposed developments in their relationship.
All Ellen divulged—in an exchange of Instagram comments with a friend last January 5—is that she and John Lloyd are officially a couple.
To an entertainment reporter, Maja asked, "Meron ba? Echosera ka! Buti pa alam mo. Ako, hindi ko alam."
Turning serious, she went on to say what she thinks about John Lloyd possibly settling down.
"Hindi ko alam. Whatever it is, as long as he’s happy.
"Ini-enjoy niya yung life. Wala akong dapat pigilan dun.
"And I think, tayong lahat, walang makakapigil kung masaya ang isang tao."
Maja was interviewed by a group of entertainment reporters after her solo presscon for her Maja On Stage concert series held last Saturday, January 13, at Dong Juan Restaurant in Quezon City.
Both John Lloyd and Maja are Star Magic artists, and also share the same handler from ABS-CBN's talent arm.
The 34-year-old John Lloyd, however, has been on "indefinite leave" from work as a Star Magic artist since October 2017.
Addressing queries about what she thinks of John Lloyd and Ellen as a couple, Maja says she has nothing but good wishes for them.
"Let's be happy. Let's respect him. Maging masaya tayo.
"Tsaka, yun ang buhay, maging masaya ka."
In 2016, Maja and John Lloyd were rumored to be an item following two occasions when they were seen together—one, vacationing in Davao; and two, watching a movie.
But in separate interviews, both Maja and John Lloyd have said they are just good friends.
