The first WAKI OPM Music Awards was held at the SM Mall of Asia last Saturday, April 25, 2009. This event was organized by radio station WRR 101.9 for Life.

Bugoy won two awards that night: the Senti Hit of the Year (for "Paano Na Kaya") and Male Vocalist of 2008. He jumped up and down for joy after giving his acceptance speech onstage.
