Following tradition, Dawn wore something new (her lace-bodice wedding ballgown designed by Inno Sotto), something borrowed (her mother-in-law's diamond tiara and her lola's handkerchief tucked into her purse), and something blue (her garter). Anton wore a tux and a boutonniere.
Dawn and Anton originally planned to get married in February 1998. But when Anton's family decided to spend the 1997 Christmas holidays in the U.S., where the groom's father was scheduled to have a quadruple heart bypass, the wedding date was moved up.
Dawn's stepbrother George Taleon, here smiling for the camera with his sister, attended the Manhattan wedding with his family. Dawn's mother, Cleo, was in Manila at the time.
Dawn was not happy that the photographer missed the all-important serious-kiss scene. Happily, he did capture the equally serious exchanging of vows and the slipping of the wedding rings. Besides, she knew the kiss scene would always be engraved in her memory.
