Jay—here hamming it up for the camera while waiting for his order in a restaurant along Hollywood Boulevard—is half-Vietnamese in real life. Right after awards night, he went to Las Vegas to meet up with his Vietnamese mother. Joey Sarmiento, the movie reporter who was with Jay on this trip, reports: "Sa East Coast naka-base ang mommy niya. Nag-meet lang sila sa Vegas kasi matagal na silang hindi nagkikita.
