After screening 80 films from 30 countries, the 11th Cinemanila International Film Festival had its culminating event through an awarding ceremony held last October 23, 2009 at the NBC Tent, Taguig City. This year's theme was "Moving Forward with Moving Images."

Surprise guest Arnel Pineda handed the microphone to Tessa Prieto-Valdes during his performance that night. The Filipino vocalist of American band Journey will perform with Katy Perry in her November 14 concert at the SM Mall of Asia concert grounds.
