Because the space is limited in a condominium, the furniture choices become even more
crucial.
Participate in shopping, or at least putting in a vote, for
your home furnishings. There’ll be no avoiding that ugly sofa once you
open the door!

“Half of this area used to be the kitchen,” explains Kian's mom, Charito Kazemi. The kitchen has been relocated behind the rust-colored accent wall, thus freeing up the space for entertaining and more leisurely dining.
Large fabric panels that frame mass-produced artworks line the wall; a pair of solid hardwood bases hold up a glass table top; and a plush Persian rug completes the impression of luxury.

“I don’t remember anymore where it’s from,” shares Mrs. Kazemi, referring to this buffet table.
Made of oil-finished hardwood and fitted with bronze metal hardware, it occupies a prominent place in the exquisite Oriental furniture collection of Kian’s dad.

Immediately on the right side of Kian’s bed is a built-in closet and display shelf. Pastel tones in gray and cobalt blue, and natural woodstain finishes make up this spic-and-span, yet boyish bedroom. “It’s where the kids stay up all night and hang out,” shares Kian’s mom. Could the high coolness quotient of the room have anything to do with it?

If you live in a condo with your family, stash your personal belongings in your own room. This way, the dining and living areas are accessed and enjoyed freely—and fairly!—by all family members.

A compact and stark-white toilet and bath need not be spartan. A stash of plush towels, faux blue roses on a jar, and a preppy mat combine for an easy-breezy appeal.
