On its 5th year, the MYX Music Awards was held at the Music Museum in San Juan City last Tuesday, March 2.
Sarah Geronimo bagged the most number of awards—bringing home the
Favorite Media Soundtrack, Favorite Remake, Favorite Female Artist, and
Favorite Artist trophies. Last year, she also won in the same
categories.
All the performers had exciting numbers, especially, Rico Blanco who
surprised everyone that night with his tribute to the late King of Pop
Michael Jackson.

The three celebrity VJs of MYX always have a good time whenever they are together.
"Ah, gano'n? Laglagan na ba?" was VJ Luis Manzano's reaction after VJs Nikki Gil and Iya Villana told him that there are "kariton" or pushcarts outside the Music Museum.
The joke refers to "Pushcart Educator" and CNN Hero of the Year Efren Peñaflorida, who's now a suitor of Luis's ex-girlfriend Angel Locsin.

After giving tribute to Jose Mari Chan, MYX channel head Andre Allan Alvarez and VJ Iya called Christian Bautista on stage to receive his special citation.
Christian was surprised and almost speechless when he received his award "for proudly representing the Filipino artists in the international music scene."
Aside from being a bestselling recording artist in Southeast Asia, Christian also represented the Philippines as one of the three singers during the opening ceremonies of the 1st Asian Beach Games held in Indonesia in 2008. He shared the same stage with top Indonesian music stars Mark Lazaro and Andre Hehaussa.

Former MTV Asia VJ Donita Rose laughed at one "classic spontaneous Manzano moment."
VJ Luis is known for his spontaneous wisecracks, just like his dad Edu Manzano.
This time, Luis joked, "Like I said earlier, it doesn't matter if Kapamilya ka, Kapuso, Ka-shake or Pangarap Kong Jackpot..."
Luis had to pause for a few seconds to ponder on what he just said.
He and Donita presented the Favorite Music Video award, which was given to Gloc9 and 6CycleMind's "Kasalan" music video.
