Alfred in front of the Basilica de San Marco, which used to be a private chapel of the doge, or ruler, of Venice. The church is named after St. Mark, the evangelist whose bones are entombed inside.
Alfred admiring the lovely flowers in the most famous garden in the world--the garden of the Chateau de Versailles. Considered a prime example of the French Baroque style, the massive garden has, among many attractions, an orangery, a vast collection of outdoor marble, bronze and lead sculptures, and some of the grandest fountains ever made. Within the grounds is the amazing sight of Marie Antoinette's fantasy farm.
