"Tekken" lead star Jon Foo drops by Manila!

The 27-year-old model-actor arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 2 last July 24 to promote his film, which was based on the popular video game.

"This is my first trip to the Philippines. I've been willing to come but I never have a good excuse," said Jon to the reporters who welcomed him.

Talking about his upcoming film Tekken, he said: "I guess it
feels the same to be in any type of movie, regardless if it's from a
video game or an original screenplay. There is not much difference in
the process of making the movie."

From the airport, he proceeded to SM Megamall, and graced the advanced screening of his movie.
"It was pretty crazy... That was intense," said Jon about his schedule.

The next day, July 25, Jon went to My Cinema of Greenbelt 3 in Makati City for his press conference.

Jon had to audition to bag the role of Jin. "It was crazy," described Jon, recalling the audition.
"Actually, I flew to Thailand to do a screen test. I also flew to America to do a screen test. Luckily, they liked me and they decided to put me for the lead role."

"I would like to play a character that is slightly disturbed, slightly troubled character," mentioned Jon about his dream role in the future.

On appearing perhaps in a Filipino-produced film, the freelance actor said, "Everything is possible."

Tekken will make its cinema debut here in the Philippines on August 4.
As for his favorite scene in the film, Jon said, "I really like the fight scene between Jin Kazama and Brian Fury. That one has a lot of soul to it."

Regarding his brief stay here, Jon mentioned his balut-eating experience with Pioneer Films' big boss Wilson Yuloque.
Jon commented, "I can't look at it for too long."
