Dance group XB Gensan emerged as the grand champion of Showtime during the grand finals held last July 24 at the Ynares Sports Center in Antipolo City.
The 13-member dance crew from General Santos City was able to beat ten other finalists for the prize of P1 million.
Showtime hosts were greeted with wild
cheers from the audience when they took centerstage at the Ynares Center

The program began with a solemn moment. A thanksgiving prayer was led
by Nash Aguas for the amazing first season of the show.
"Dear God, thank you po for inspiring us. Thank you for the
love of friends especially our family. God, ikaw ang patuloy na nagbibigay sa
amin ng lakas at pag-asa. Maraming salamat po sa lahat ng taong gumabay,
yumakap at nagkapit-kamay upang matupad namin ang aming munting pangarap.
Maraming salamat po sa lahat ng taong nagtiwala at naniwala sa aming kakayahan.
God, we lift up to you all our fears, all our joy, all our hopes and all our
dreams. Amen."
Kuya Kim Atienza also displayed his flair for performing
with a Tom Jones song, "Kiss." He even threw some interesting facts about the
1989 song by the legendary singer.
For nine months, the hosts of Showtime have been entertaining viewers with their morning show on ABS-CBN. The second season of the talent search started last Monday, July 26.
Of the 73 judges, 39 came back to participate in Showtime The Finals. Among the judges that day were
Jon Avila, Andrew E, Gladys Reyes and her husband Christopher Roxas,
Jhong Hilario, Priscilla Meirelles, Alessandra de Rossi, Precious Lara
Quigaman, Nikki Bacolod, Joy Viado, Will Devaughn, Robert Seña, Candy
Pangilinan, Dennis Padilla, Marc Abaya, Kean Cipriano, Mahal, Kitkat
and columnist-talent manager Alfie Lorenzo.
Vice Ganda rendered a score of 6 for Kasibulan, the performing group from Muntinlupa City. The group received an average score of 7.375 from the hurados.
The boys from Olongapo even had two
of their members lower themselves down a la Spiderman. The hurados gave an average score of 8.575 to the group Perlas ng Silangan.
The grand number of Mortal Combat and the Showgays ended with
their dance leader hanging upside down on bamboo poles. The group from Quezon City received an average score of 9.3.
The dance floor was filled with referees and basketball players
showcasing their dancing skills.
The Beat Guyz ended up getting a score of 7.325 from the judges.
The Savannah Kids Ballroom Dancers had homecourt advantage because they performed in their hometown of Antipolo.
The kids displayed the flair and quick footwork that dazzled the audience at
the Ynares Center.
