It's a new dawn for the Organisasyon ng Pilipinong Mang-aawit (OPM), which will "advocate policies for the growth of the music industry."

The oath-taking took place last August 13 at the Rizal Ballroom of Malacañang Palace.

"Ako, si Ogie Alcasid na hinirang sa katungkulan bilang Presidente ng OPM, simula ngayong ika-13 ng Agosto 2010, ay taimtim na nanunumpa na tutuparin ko nang buong husay at katapatan, sa abot ng aking kakayahan, ang mga tungkulin ng aking kasulukuyang katungkulan at itataguyod ang organisasyon at mga layunin nito sa lahat ng oras ar pagkakataon.
"Nanunumpa rin akong magiging huwarang mamamayang Filipino na magtataguyod sa saligang batas at iba pang alituntunin at mga sagisag ng bansa at mga mamamayan nito.
"At kusa kong babalikatin ang pananagutang itampok at ipagmalaki ang Musika, Kultura at lahing Pilipino nang walang anumang pasubali o hangaring umiwas.
In P-Noy's speech, he
reiterated the importance of music in our society, and mentioned the government agencies that can assist OPM in achieving its
goals.
Each one of them is a certified hitmaker. The President made his public debut as a Videoke King during his victory party, held last June 30 at the Quezon City Memorial Circle.
