Imortal marks the first time that Angel Locsin and John Lloyd Cruz are paired together for an onscreen project.
Some of the outdoor scenes of this show were shot in Tanay,
Rizal and Tagaytay.
Chito Roño and Jerry Lopez Sineneng direct this
fantasy series, which will be airing soon on ABS-CBN.
In Imortal, Angel Locsin plays Lia Ortega, the daughter of Lyka and Noah in Lobo. She inherited the werewolf blood of her mother.
In the previous fantasy series of the Kapamilya Network, Angel portrayed Lyka while Piolo Pascual was cast as Noah.
In this sequel of Lobo, John Lloyd Cruz is cast as Mateo. It turns out that he is a vampire, part of a clan destined to be an immortal enemy of the werewolves.
Rico Blanco plays Lucas, the best friend of Mateo (portrayed by John Lloyd Cruz). This marks the first time that the former vocalist of Rivermaya tries acting on television.
"Hindi ko talaga alam kung paano i-judge 'yong work ko," said Rico Blanco (left) about his acting debut on the small screen. "If other people appreciate it, blessings na lang 'yon. Just like
music, dati, ako lang ang nakikinig then ipaparinig ko sa mga kapatid
ko, ganun lang. And then this whole band thing happened in the '90s so
blessing lang talaga."
Angel Locsin says of John LLoyd Cruz, "Nakita ko kung paano siya nagpe-prepare sa eksena, kaya pala ang
galing niya, kasi iba ang dedication niya sa career niya. Pag pupunta
siya ng set, memorize na niya ang script niya, napaka-professional."
"Nakakatuwa si John Lloyd kasi tahimik lang siya pero pag nagkuwento
na, ang daming alam, so ang dami kong nakukuha sa kanya," says Angel Locsin of her leading man John Lloyd Cruz. "Tuwing may
eksena kami, looking forward talaga ako kasi kunwari [habang
nagse-setup], nag-o-open up sa akin 'yan, marami kang malalaman sa
kanya na bago..."
Angel Locsin was nominated as Best Actress for her performance in Lobo in the 37th International Emmy Awards. She lost to British actress Julie Walters, the lead actress in A Short Stay in Switzerland.
John Lloyd Cruz has plans to visit the restaurant of Angel Locsin but they have yet to find the time to visit Fuel Up, her restaurant in Don Antonio Heights, Quezon City.
