(L-R) Brothers Tito and Vic Sotto and Joey de Leon—known collectively as TVJ—informed the audience that for the first time in its 33-year history Eat Bulaga! would be aired without commercial breaks.

Vic Sotto provided a teaser: "Mula noong 1979 nung umere ang Eat Bulaga, hindi pa natin nagagawa ito. Pero bago natin malaman kung ano yan, ang araw na ito ay araw rin ng bayanihan. 

"Tuloy pa rin ang SOS Sale natin. Ang maiipon natin mula sa Eat Bulaga items ay ibibili natin ng rescue equipment, tulad ng rubber boats, at kung ano man ang malikom natin ay dodoblehin ng Eat Bulaga."

Then they surprised everybody by airing their program without commercial interruption. 

Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey de Leon repeatedly thanked their supporters, known collectively as the Dabarkads. Dabarkads is also the name by which the cast and crew of Eat Bulaga! call themselves. 

With the floods still in many areas of Luzon province, Vic quipped, "Ang bilin namin, wag masyado uminom ng tubig, baka magkasakit kayo sa bato." Joey also told the audience, "Ayaw namin kayo painumin ng tubig, e."

Marian was known as a better-than-average dancer even when she was just starting her showbiz career. Today, she is one of the best dancing stars in the business.

Marian's next project is the Kapuso Network's remake of the Koreanovela Temptation of Wife. She will be paired with Dennis Trillo and former ABS-CBN actor Rafael Rosell.

Just like Lovi Poe, Isabelle Daza is showbiz royalty. Lovi is the biological daughter of the late Fernando Poe Jr., Action King of Philippine movies; Isabelle is the daughter Gloria Diaz, former Miss Universe and active actress.

Isabelle is also known as one of today's "It Girls," alongside her buddies Anne Curtis, Solenn Heusaff, Liz Uy, and Georgina Wilson.

Eat Bulaga! host Tito Sotto—who is also the country's current Senate Majority Floor Leader—is right now in the midst of a huge controversy.

A portion of his speech against the Reproductive Health Bill being debated at the Senate was lifted nearly word for word from a blog written by a U.S.-based writer. Tito Sotto's chief of staff, Atty. Hector Villacorta, admitted that they indeed copied from the blog of Sarah Pope, but then put Sarah on the defensive by asking why she couldn't let it go when there was the "more important" issue of the reproductive health bill.

Turns out, Sarah Pope was aware of the "possible" dangers of contraceptives to women's health, but was more adamant about women's need to be educated on their reproductive health and rights. She was, in other words, on the opposite side of the debate.

As if this weren't enough controversy, a day or so later, a Canada-based Filipino writer said the senator had actually copied from three more blogs. There has been no clear answer from the senator's camp on this latest charge of plagiarism.

Vic Sotto performed "A Groovy Kind of Love" during the last portion of the anniversary special. Even without the singing, Vic is, as everyone knows, considered a heartthrob on television.

On the big screen, he practically owns the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF), a December event where cinemas only show Tagalog-produced films. His films almost always top the box-office race, with families and children as his big and loyal audience.

Joey de Leon serenaded the crowd with his rendition of the song "My Foolish Heart." It was probably one of those rare moments when the comedy giant was focused on singing, leaving the comic asides and jests for before and after.

Joey is responsible for the lyrics that always open Eat Bulaga! He has a penchant for word play, which stands him in good stead in his many incarnations on GMA-7 and TV5.

Joey de Leon (rightmost) expressed gratitude to their viewers: "Alay namin ang araw na ito sa lahat ng Dabarkads mula noon hanggang ngayon at sa mga susunod pang mga henerasyon. Maikukuwento niyo ito. Isa itong magandang kasaysayan."

Joey is also known, in the TVJ trio, as the defender of the faith.
