Snoop and Misha set eyes on each other. "Snoop gets into wrestling matches with Misha," Pia Guanio says. "And Misha plays really roughly with Snoop."
The Eat..Bulaga!!! co-host discloses that the dogs aren't really hers, she's just "babysitting" them.
Misha, the Pomeranian, belongs to her mom Tess—who was devastated by the death of her pet, Wicket, also a Pomeranian. "On her birthday, my dad asked me to look for a replacement for Wicket. Kasi, after Wicket died, she didn't want another dog ever." Pia went to a Pom breeder and got another pet for her mom. "When she saw Misha, it was love at first sight."
Pia's family agreed on the name Misha for the Pomeranian because "she looks it—like a mushy ball of fur." Snoop, on the other hand, got her name from the rapper Snoop Doggy Dogg: "We wanted it to be a little bit edgier and not so commonplace."
Yasmien Kurdi's family owns three flower horn fishes. Emerson was the first one they bought. The StarStruck Batch 1 First Princess may owe part of the success she has been enjoying to the flower horn fish: "Sabi nila, good luck daw 'yon sa life, ganyan."
Putting all three flower horn fishes together in one aquarium is not advisable, according to Yasmien: "Sobra silang naje-jealous sa isa't isa." This breed is very territorial and aggressive in nature and cannot coexist with other fish. "One time, pinagsama 'yong dalawa" in one tank, recalls Miriam, Yasmien's mom. "Next day, wala na 'yong mata no'ng isa."
A pit bull is a prize-winning dogfighter, but its owner Biboy Ramirez says, "Gusto ko, lapdog lang." Though the pit bull looks ferocious, he's really a gentle giant. "Ang bait-bait niyan," Biboy assures us. "Mahiyain nga 'yan, e."
The actor has taken good care of Dexter ever since his friend, Chuck, gave the dog to him. But whenever Biboy is out of the house, "'binibilin ko na lang sa maid."
Gayle Valencia's dogs can get pretty sensitive: "Kunyari, pag 'yong isa pinapansin mo, magpapapansin 'yong isa. Parang magjujump-jump, takbo nang takbo, tahol nang tahol." Dracula, the male cocker spaniel, is the more sulky of the two: "Hindi niya ako pinapansin. Talagang iniirapan ka pa niya. 'Tapos, ginawa ko, kinuha ko siya. Hinug ko siya. 'Tapos, maya-maya, hayun, lini-lick na niya 'ko sa face."
Gayle explains her pets' names. Dracula: "Kasi he's so white. 'Tapos, 'yong features niya, matapang." Sistah: "Para feminine." The two dogs each have a special trick: "Si Dracula, marunong mag-appear. Si Sistah naman, marunong mag-shake hands."
Dracula and Sistah can hardly stay put in one place: "Pag nagluluto'yong mom ko, pupunta silang kitchen. 'Tapos, kahit na kakaligo lang nila, wala pang one hour, ang dumi na nila."
It's not uncommon to find dog poop all over JM Rodriguez's balcony. That's apparently how his pet schnauzer expresses its resentment at being left alone with the maid in JM's condo unit. Fortunately, Cracker doesn't get lonely very often. His constant playmate—Mr. Q, Mylene Dizon's dachshund—conveniently lives in the next building. JM, who got his dog as a present from a writer-friend, gave it the name Cracker because he and his sister were then on a crackers diet.
Years back, Wilson was a great comfort to Maritoni Fernandez when she broke up with Hans Montenegro. The extremely playful poodle was a present from a male friend: "He gifted me with Wilson to keep me company." That must explain why Hans was a bit biased when it came to Wilson. "He calls him a prissy dog," Maritoni quips."Siyempre, kasi 'binigay sa 'kin no'ng naghiwalay kami, di ba?"
Still, the actress has nothing but praise for her pet poodle: "He's soooo low maintenance, grabe. And he's just naturally smart. His line of pedigree is unbelievable!"
