Geneva and her country style living.

"From the very first time I saw this house, talaga gusto ko na," says Geneva. She and KC then set out to get the country look that they wanted for their new home, and this comfortable-looking pinewood sofa set—bought from her favorite furniture store, Philux at SM Megamall—was one of the first acquisitions.
"Simula pa no'ng time na kami ni Paco, 'yong mga gamit ko puro pinewood talaga. Philux lang ang nagbebenta ng pinewood. Mabigat-bigat siya sa bulsa, pero worth it. And come to think of it, 'yong wood, habang tumatagal, gumaganda siya."

"I was born to sing," Geneva says. "I was only two when I started singing." The 28-year-old former lead singer of the musical group Smokey Mountain belongs to a family of performers: Sunshine, Sheryl, and Donna Cruz are cousins, Tirso Cruz III is an uncle. Geneva has also tried acting, starring in some teenybopper movies before concentrating fully on her singing career.
"I really enjoy what I do. Sabi ko nga kay KC, siguro kahit lola na ako, magkakanta pa rin ako. It's not really about the money. Siyempre, masarap kumita ng pera, pero nasa fun talaga 'yong nararamdaman ko."

The studio has become their friends' new hang-out. "Pag gumagawa kami ng songs, pag nagko-compose kami or gumagawa siya ng arrangements or anything rap, diyan kami lahat. Usually, mas gusto talaga namin na mga kaibigan namin pumupunta na lang dito, kesa lalabas pa kami. Mas safe, mas fun."

This stained-glass window at the top of a stairway gives off a myriad of colors when sunlight streams through it. Geneva has taken photos of this same area: "Kung wala akong ginagawa, I play photographer."

KC, who is into R&B and hip-hop music, had his own music studio built inside their new home, complete with the latest gadgets needed for recording. "Dito napunta ang pera ni KC," Geneva reveals.

This blue suede chaise lounge—beneath a framed cross-stitch pattern of horses made by Geneva's mom—cost an arm and a leg, but Geneva thinks the expense was worth it: "'Yong couch na 'yon, actually madugo rin sa bulsa, pero maganda. Lalo na pag nahiga ka do'n, tulog ka na. Sobrang comfortable!"

Geneva's collection of snow globes represents the wide range of places—from Chicago, U.S.A., to Egypt and Italy—that she has visited and performed in. "'Yan 'yong mga countries na napuntahan ko all over the world. I collect that pero may mga kulang pa." She's thankful that her profession takes her around the world. "Masarap talaga 'yong trabaho namin," she says gratefully.

On the other side of the living room is the cozy breakfast area, with a dining set that matches the furniture in the living room.
According to Geneva, KC was at first not keen on renting the place, because of the two marble columns in the arched entryway. "Ayaw niya ng parang gladiator," says Geneva of the two columns. But she succeeded in changing KC's mind, telling him: "Babe, depende 'yan sa mga furniture... Leave it to me, it's gonna look country. It's gonna look like a home."

On display beside the chaise lounge is a framed photo of Heaven, whom his dad Paco—a former member of the group Introvoys—named after the title of one of his songs, "Line to Heaven." Beside the framed photo is a hand-painted mask that Geneva bought in Venice, Italy, for 180 euros.

The teen singer has now matured into one sexy lady, pacing her career with her own emotional and physical growth. Says Geneva
of the inevitable change in her persona: "I gave birth, I was married. So I felt na, come on! Ako, hindi ko pinaplano 'yong image. No'ng nagbago ako ng image, nagbago na kasi ako as a person. Nag-grow na ako, nag-mature na ako. Hindi na puwedeng pa-cute pa rin. 'Tsaka performer ako. Hindi ka kikita nang malaki kung pa-sweet ka masyado. Ako pa? Palaban ako. Sumasayaw ako, kumakanta. Siyempre, gusto nila, 'yong at least onstage, sexy manamit, or presentable, magandang mag-ayos. Kaya nga kami celebrities dahil people look up to us. 'Tapos, mukha kaming basahan? Di, nakakahiya naman sa mga fans."

"Lahat ng gamit diyan, akin lahat 'yan," Geneva says of the outfits on these shelves and racks. When YES! asks her about the daring outfits she wears onstage, the feisty singer replies: "I really don't care what people say about how I dress, as long as I'm comfortable and I know I look cool to my honey bunny. And thank God I know how to dress well."

Geneva's shoe collection consists mainly of high-heeled shoes, the ones she uses when performing, although she owns a couple of Nike and Adidas rubber shoes for working out. "May cabinet din ako sa labas. Nando'n 'yong mga shoes na hindi ko masyadong ginagamit." When there's no more space in the cabinets, Geneva gives away some of her size-nine shoes.

For a singer who has to be glammed up for every performance, this vanity table in her dressing room is a must.
