A bit player yesterday, the most sought-after leading man today.

Piolo Pascual's opening song, Wency Cornejo's "Mangarap Ka," perfectly describes PJ's, his nickname, rise to stardom. If not for his dreams, he wouldn't be doing the two things he enjoys most: singing and acting.

His first song segues into Kitchie Nadal's "Bulong": "Hoy kaibigan ko/ Pakinggan mo ang mga bulong sa 'yo/ Ito'y 'di galing sa mundo/ Patungo sa pangakong paraiso." 

Piolo Pascual expresses gratitude to his Kapamilya for "TEN" years in showbiz: "Wala po ako dito kung hindi dahil sa aking tatay na si Mr. M [Johnny Manahan], ang aking nanay Mariole [Alberto], at ang aking mga kapatid sa Star Magic."

The Kapamilya network's talents prepare a dance extravaganza. The portions featuring the tandem of Rayver Cruz and Shaina Magdayao, and the group of hunkylicious Zanjoe Marudo, Rafael Rosel, and Jake Cuenca are the most applauded.

After the grand production of Star Magic, all the talents leave the stage, except Pokwang.

Piolo: "Oy, tapos na kayo."

Pokwang: "Thank you for coming."

Piolo: "Sandali, concert ko 'to. Ikaw naman Marietta [Pokwang's real name], aagawan mo pa ako."

The Big Dome vibrates with laughter.

“Bro [Sam], ayun si Attorney Joji [Alonso]. Batiin natin. Hi, Attorney!”

Through their lawyer, the two heartthrobs recently filed a libel case against talk show host-tabloid writer Lolit Solis.

After the show, Piolo asks Pokwang, "O, anong nangyari sa iyo?"

Pokwang, breathing loudly, replies: "Tubig!"

Sam wipes Pokwang's face with tissue. Lucky lady!

Piolo's concert would not be complete without the man who believed in his singing talent, Mr. Ogie Alcasid. The two perform a medley of the composer's songs.

Ogie: "Nung kumakanta ako, na-confused ako."

PJ: "Bakit naman?"

Ogie: "Akala ko nakatingin ako sa salamin. Sino ito at kamukha ko? Ako ba ito?"

The audience roars with guffaws.

"Masayang-masaya ako na nakatrabaho ko ang pinakamagagaling na leading ladies sa showbiz. Ladies and gentlemen, Ms. Claudine Barretto!"

Piolo dedicates his greatest hit "The Gift" to Clau. The Jim Brickman original is also the theme song of their movie Milan.

"All I want is to hold you forever/ All I need is you more everyday/ You saved my heart from being broken apart/ You gave your love away an I'm thankful every day for the gift."

The Ultimate Dreamboy prods the lady to sing with him, Clau just shakes her head.

Asia's Songbird Regine Velasquez and Piolo sing the theme song of their movie Paano Kita Iibigin (June 2006).

Piolo renders the theme song of his upcoming TV series with Angel Locsin, Lobo.

Piolo, obviously in his element! This time, the crowd is also dancing.

The white garland is from ABS-CBN's lady boss Charo Santos-Concio.

"Ang ganda ni Ma'am Charo. Sayang, hindi tayo nagpang-abot," says Piolo.

Kristine and Piolo worked together in the TV soap Sa Sandaling Kailangan Mo Ako (1998), the project that gave PJ his first acting nomination at Asian TV Awards in 1999.

The rising star (on screen) ten years ago and the celebrity he is now. Says Piolo about his picture: "Ang pangit ko noon 'no?"
