The fifth edition of the MTV Staying Alive Music Summit for HIV/AIDS took place at the SM Mall of Asia grounds last December 12, 2007. VJs of MTV Philippines and classic rock acts gathered together to entertain the public and inform them how to prevent the dreaded disease.

Former MTV VJs Marc Abaya and Sarah Meier took time out to return to hosting duties for the MTV Music Summit. The
high-energy concert once again set out to reach the youth and encourage active
participation in the fight against HIV and AIDS through the universal language
of music.

This
year, MTV took its advocacy to another level as it focused on a more practical
and responsible approach in combating HIV/AIDS: getting tested. In between acts, celebrities reminded the audience to take the risk of HIV/AIDS seriously since there is no cure yet for the disease.

Marc Abaya, vocalist of Kjwan, rendered a salute before leading his band to a well-received set. He started off with "Daliri" then indulged the crowd with the song "Pintura." Finally, Marc closed his performance with the classic "One Look."

MTV VJ Anne Curtis introduced Typecast as one of her favorite bands. In fact, she tells the audience that she watches them in the Makati gimik spot, SaGuijo.

One of the most-applauded numbers that night was the collaboration of Chito Miranda and Jay Contreras. Parokya ni Edgar's frontman screamed his lungs out for the song "The Ordertaker" while Kamikazee's funnyman interpreted the lyrics of the song.
