Palos, which is the Tagalog word for eel, premieres on Monday, January 28, during ABS-CBN's Primetime Bida block. Expect action-packed fight scenes and explosive sequences in the action-adventure series that was shot partly in Macau.

Young
heartthrob Jake Cuenca (left) and veteran actor Cesar Montano (right) definitely did more than
just flash their toned bodies for this project. Palos, as revealed by both
actors, entails a lot of hard work—emotionally and physically.
"Para sa kanila naman po ‘to, e," said Jake to the
press during the January 15 press conference of Palos. "Ginagalingan namin,
pinaghihirapan namin para po sa kanila [the audience]."

Despite the marital problems between Sunshine Cruz and Cesar Montano, the couple were professional enough to work together on Palos. Cesar is Fabio, one of the best agents of Neptune, while Sunshine plays the role of his wife who dies while they were in Macau, China.

Bernard Bonnin, the father of Charlene Gonzales-Muhlach, has played the mercenary Palos eight times on the big screen since 1962. This character is based on the komiks character created by the Redondo brothers. The beret-wearing agent was first introduced to the public on on January 27, 1969.
In the TV remake, which airs 39 years after the first public appearance of Palos, Jake Cuenca and Cesar Montano will pit their fighting skills against each other to determine who has the right to be named Palos.

In fact, when he was shooting his scenes in Macau, Filipinos there called him Andrew, the name of his character in Natutulog Ba ang Diyos?

In the story, Silvia is an agent who makes Giancarlo fall in love with her so she can manipulate him.

Jake's former girlfriend Roxanne Guinoo is part of Palos as Anna, the childhood sweetheart of Giancarlo (Jake).
In the January 17 press conference of Palos, Roxanne talks about the status of her relationshjip with her former flame: "Gaya nga ng sabi niya [Jake], ‘Okay na okay kami.' Ayaw naming masayang 'tong opportunity sa
amin, e. Nagbida na siya sa Palos so
talagang make or break na ito sa kanya.
And ito nga, kapalit ng Palos sa akin yung soap with Ms.
Claudine dahil fan talaga ako ni Claudine."
Roxanne is set to appear in the upcoming Sineserye Florinda starring Claudine Barretto.
