With the new Friendster Fan Profile, official profiles of local celebrities are now more secure.
Celebrities like (L-R) Jon Avila, Gaby dela Merced, Sitti, Bianca King, Champ Lui Pio, DJ Mo Twister, and Katrina Halili assured Friendster executives that they will sign up for an official fan profile in Friendster.
During the presentation of Friendster, it showed that Jennylyn Mercado was one of the top ten celebrities who has the most friends in Friendster.
Jennylyn's boyfriend, Patrick Garcia, said he was not intimidated by this. In fact, he openly acknowledged it by saying, "Malaki ang fan base ni Jennylyn."
Maintaining their profiles is the major problem for the celebrities due to their hectic schedules. Car-racer/TV personality Gaby dela Merced is "guilty" of this.
"To tell you honestly, I haven't checked it in a while," revealed the Third Big Placer of Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Edition 2.
However, with the newest feature, Gaby just might spend more time in updating her Friendster profile. She explained, "I could get, you know, things heard, e. Parang kelan ang upcoming races, things na pinaggagagawa."
Rumored couple Bianca King and Hale band vocalist Champ Lui Pio were both present during the event.
Before reporters could make any speculation, Bianca immediately clarified, "We were both hired by the agency. Hinire din siya, e, for the event, nagkataon."
After the event, Bianca King and Champ Lui Pio accessed Friendster and checked out their friends' profiles with one of the laptops provided for the celebrities to use.
Bench model and ex-Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Edition 2 housemate Jon Avila told PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) that he found 10 fake Friendster profiles under his name.
He described, "There's a guy on Friendster who's trying to be me. He's really, really good. Someone told me about it."
Like the other celebrities, Gaby dela Merced and DJ Mo Twister said Friendster is a very useful tool that helps keep their fans updated about their upcoming events.
(L-R) Jon Avila, Gaby dela Merced, Sitti, Bianca King, Champ Lui Pio, DJ Mo Twister, and Katrina Halili posed with Friendster executives, marketing director Jeff Roberto (in striped black longsleeves) and vice president for global marketing David Jones (in light blue) for a photo-op.
