Senatorial aspirant Bongbong Marcos and sexy actress Francine Prieto are now part of one family. The politician from Ilocos Norte was launched today as one of the newest endorsers of Blackwater cologne from Ever Bilena, which Francine also endorses.

In an interview with PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) yesterday afternoon, February 24, at Max's restaurant along Scout Tuazon, Quezon City, Francine clarified that she is not endorsing the congressman in his senatorial run.

"Actually nandito ako ngayon para suporta para sa Ever Bilena dahil endorser nila ako. Pero sila naman, sinusuportahan si Bongbong Marcos," she said.

Francine expressed, however, that she may endorse Marcos if he asks her.

"Sabi ko, bakit naman hindi? Sa tingin ko kung napagsilbihan na niya yung Ilocos, bakit hindi natin siya bigyan ng chance ngayon na mag-serve naman sa buong bansa natin?" she said.

Francine, who's not endorsing any politician at the moment, said it is important to her that she endorse only those she believes in.

"Siyempre, kailangan yung naniniwala ako kasi, di ba? Ano 'yon e, yun yung sinasabi mo sa tao. So, dapat naniniwala ka muna sa sinasabi mo, para pag sinabi mo sa tao, totoo, di ba?" she explained.

In campaigns, Francine added, the payment given to endorsers is just an added plus.

"Parang ano rin 'yan , e, yung bayad naman, siyempre, yung pagod mo rin doon, nagpapa-makeup ka rin... 'Saka siyempre kumbaga, parang bonus na lang 'yan. Imbes na bibigyan ka ng regalo, yung bayad na lang. Kumbaga ki-nash na lang yung regalo sa 'yo," she said.

Francine said celebrity endorsers are important to politicians because they help candidates win elections.

"Kasi nakakatulong talaga yung artista para at least yung mga tao, pag kilala nila yung mga artista... Di ba, may mga tao, kung ano yung sinasabi ng mga artista, kasi sila na yung parang role model, e. Naniniwala sila. So, sa tingin ko dapat hindi talaga ipagbawal," she said.

DEFENDING ARA. PEP asked Francine if she has plans to enter politics, just like her friend and former Bubble Gang cast mate Ara Mina.

Francine replied, "Hindi, wala. Ayoko. Si Ara naman kasi, tinananong ko siya niyan, kung bakit siya magka-councilor. Well, unang-una, sa family niya, di ba? Pangalawa, si Ara talaga, kahit noon-noon pa 'yan, kahit kapwa artista 'yan, kahit sino, tanungin mo 'yan, may sagot 'yan sa 'yo. "

Francine said her friend, who is running for councilor of Quezon City, is a natural helper. Ara—whose father Ismael "Chuck" Mathay III is the former congressman of Quezon City's 2nd district and grandfather Ismael "Mel" Mathay Jr. is the former mayor of Q.C.—even told Francine her motives for running in the May 2010 elections were pure.

"Tapos alam mo, ano siya, talagang willing siyang tumulong. Tulong siya nang tulong. Siyempre magandang bagay 'yon. At sinasabi niya, kaya raw siya papasok, at least daw ngayon, yung pagtulong niya, meron na siyang budget para do'n. Hindi katulad noon daw, yung sariling pera niya, yun yung nabibigay niya sa mga humihingi ng tulong sa kanya, kahit dun sa foundation niya. So at least may budget na raw siya para sa pantulong dun sa tao," Francine said.
